Anime: One Piece

Review: Monkey D. Luffy started his voyage in the long sea to become the “King of Pirates”. In
his long adventure he made several friends and foes. The “One Piece” plot is set up in a world
where the sea is ruled by pirates and marines. And both of them fight against each other in the
sea.

In the “One Piece” world, people have unique powers which they gained by eating mysterious
fruits known as “Devil Fruits”. However, the person who eats a devil fruit cannot swim. The
main protagonist of the story Luffy has eaten the “Gomu Gomu No Mi” (Rubber Rubber Fruit)
which has made him a rubber man. He can stretch any part of his body. Throughout the story
Luffy met many friends and includes them as his crewmates. His group is known as the “Straw
Hat Pirates” (Mugiwara). Straw Hat Pirates includes Luffy who is the captain, Roronoa Zoro his
vice-captain and a swordsman, Nami the ship navigator, Usoop the sniper, Sanji the cook,
Chooper the ship doctor, Robin the archeologist, Franky the shipwright, Brook the musician and
Jimbei the helmsman. In his crew, Chopper, Robin and Brook possess different devil fruits
power apart from Luffy and despite having no devil fruits power Zoro and Sanji are his strongest
companion in the ship.

The sea is ruled by both pirates and marines. There are different pirate groups all fighting for the
treasure left by Pirate King Gold Roger in the island of Raftel (Laugh Tale) which location is
unknown. The pirates and marines use an instrument named “Log Pose” to navigate their ships
which is similar to a compass.
