quickly and conveniently

Do you already have a boarding pass

for your connecting flight?

Yes. Please double-check the No. Within the transit zone,

information on your flight is counter of the airline
shown on the monitors. If operating your flight or
no gate has been assigned straight to the departure
yet, head for the indicated gate, or ask at an information
pier (A, B, C, etc.). counter. You should obtain
your boarding pass from your
airline‘s check-in counter
before passing through

14 Transfers Made Easy

Transfers Made Easy

Should I allow extra time

for passport and security
controls?

In most cases, you‘ll have to

pass through security and
passport controls when
transferring planes. Please
allow enough time for these.
If you are in a hurry to catch
your connecting flight, you
can save time by using one
of the “Fast Lanes” through
security. Monitors list the
entitled flights for which
passengers may use a “Fast
Lane”.

Please observe the restrictions on carrying liquids,

e-cigarettes and powerbanks in your hand luggage.

Do you need assistance?

g Infokiosks: Scan your boarding pass, and all the

information relevant to your flight will be displayed
(including terminal maps, shops, restaurants and
lounges) in eight different languages.
g Service Points: Our multilingual service staff will be happy
to help you (see terminal maps for locations).
g Mobile Service Guides can be identified by their red
uniforms.
g Frankfurt Airport App: Available for IOS & Android.

Transfers Made Easy 15

Please also listen out for the PA announcements
and be aware of the local time in Frankfurt. And please
be sure to get to your departure gate before boarding
starts. The end of the boarding time does not corres-
pond with the departure time. Consult your boarding
pass to see when that is. Please note that gates may
change at short notice, so keep checking the infor
mation boards and monitors.

How can I easily cover large distances at the airport?

g M
oving walkways: Take advantage of our many moving
walkways throughout the airport.
g S
kyLine train: If you need to transfer between Piers A, B,
C or Z (in Terminal 1) and Piers D or E (in Terminal 2),
follow the signs to the SkyLine (it runs every 2 to 3
minutes).

What about my luggage?

In most cases, your checked

luggage will be automati-
cally forwarded to your final
destination. If not, you must
collect it at the baggage
claim and then recheck it.
Guests who are continuing
their journeys by a Deutsche
Bahn train under a Lufthansa
flight number can pick up
their bags at the baggage
claim in the AiRail Terminal
near the long-distance train
station.
