and oxidation inhibitors for lubrication of bearings operating at elevated temperatures.

Typical Physical Characteristics

Applications NLGI Consistency 2

Ball, roller and sleeve bearings, as well as sliding Colour Amber

surfaces and grease lubricated gears.
Soap Type Bentonite
Due to the inert nature of the bentonite clay, the
grease is suitable for applications where the Base Oil (type) Mineral
lubricant is exposed to contaminants such as Kinematic Viscosity
water and chemicals found in many industrial @ 40°C mm2/s 100
applications including chemical plants, paper 100°C mm2/S 11
mills, as well as mining and process plants. (ISO 3104)

Cone Penetration
Performance Features Worked @ 25°C 0.1mm 265-295
(IP 50/ASTM-D217)
Shell Gadus S2 U100 exhibits excellent mobility
making it ideal for low temperature applications. Dropping Point °C 300
(IP 396)
• Good Oxidation Resistance
• Good water resistance Typical Physical Characteristics
• Mon-melting grease These characteristics are typical of current
• Good Anti-Corrosion Resistance production. Whilst future production will
conform to Shell's specification, variations in
Operating Temperature Range these characteristics may occur.
Industrial Grease lubricated machinery at
temperatures up to 120°C – top temperature Advice
180°C with frequent lubrication. Advice on applications not shown on this leaflet
may be obtained from your Shell Representative.
