Solar mosquito destroyer is about the size of a big dictionary and
weighs 1.5 kilograms.
Working
The destroyer uses the smell of the biogas from the septic tank - a
common breeding ground for mosquitoes - flowing through a
circular inlet tube provided in the base to attract the insects.
Once trapped in the destroyer, they are killed by the heat built up
inside the device due to direct sunlight exposure.
The two wings of the inverted U-shaped solar furnace have been
designed to collect the dead mosquitoes, and for easy emptying and
cleaning.

Working Principal
Mosquitoes, even in dark, can easily locate where a person is by sensing carbon
dioxide and temperature that he/she sheds. Also, they react extremely sensitively to
near ultraviolet rays.
Using these properties of mosquitoes, V-mark photo catalyst mosquito trap can
decoy and capture mosquitoes both in bright indoors and in dark outdoors by a
tripartite system, HEAT and NEAR ULTRAVIOLET RAYS produced by the fluorescent
lamps installed inside, and CARBON DIOXIDE produced when near ultraviolet rays
are radiated onto titanium dioxide. Carbon Dioxide (CO2): a gas which is completely
harmless to the human beings.
Decoyed mosquitoes enter into the exterminator through the capture windows on the
upper part, and then are strongly drawn into the capture net on the lower part.
A loom is a machine or device for weaving thread or yarn into textiles. Looms
can range from very small hand-held frames, to large free-standing hand looms,
to huge automatic mechanical devices.
A shuttle in weaving is a device used with a loom that is thrown back and forth
between the threads of the warp in order to weave in the weft or woof. Shuttles
are often made of flowering dogwood wood because it is so hard, resists
splintering, and finishes very smooth.
In Shuttle loom single shuttle is used and horse shoes are been fixed at the two
ends of the loom.
Price
Two shuttles are used for the purpose of weaving. And one horse shoe is
used in the middle of the two shuttles.
Working
When the first shuttle strikes from one end, the middle horse-shoe strikes
the shuttle second shuttle in the same direction. Therefore, both the
shuttles move in the same direction simultaneously and the middle horse–
shoe strikes one shuttle at a time.

WOOD COOK
PELLET
Corn Stove
A corn stove is designed for whole kernel shelled corn combustion and is
similar to a pellet stove. The chief difference between a pellet stove and a
dedicated corn stove is the addition of metal stirring rod within the burn
pot or an active ash removal system. These vary in design slightly, but
usually consist of one long metal stalk with smaller rods welded at a
perpendicular angle, in order to churn the burn-pot as it spins.
Rice Husk
Working Process
An ex-lecturer from Delhi University, Ramesh Singh, (now based in Varanasi) has
developed a bio-stove fuelled by dry rice husk, which can cook a full meal at a cost
of just 25 paise. The stove is designed in a way that merely 250gm of rice husk
could generate proper flame for cooking a square meal.
All that one has to do is to fill the iron tray in the stove with the dry husk, which
then gets trapped in the burner. It is ignited with a small piece of paper and soon
gives out flame, enabling users to cook a veg or non-veg meal for five to six
persons within 30 to 45 minutes.
The stove can be used for two years, without any replacement.

Floating Soap
Product Detail
C A Vincent
Thrissur, Kerala
Vincent observed many people taking bath in rivers and ponds loosing grip of their soaps, which often
sink in the water. He conducted experiments in his soap manufacturing unit for about 14 years to
develop this unique process of manufacturing soap that floats in water.
Ingredients
The soap has a density of 0.878, TFM (Total Fatty Matter) is around 73 per cent, foaming stability at
0.1 cm and foaming power at 0.2 cm.
Purpose
Now you will not lose soap too far away, swim with it, don’t stop, if you have a floating soap.

Important Finding
The name "Ivory" refers to a series of products created by the Procter &
Gamble Company (P&G), including varieties of a white and mildly
fragranced bar soap, which became famous for its pure content and for
floating in water. Ivory bar soap is whipped with air in its production and
floats in water.
Procter & Gamble product research, which was reported during October
1992, has involved creating other varieties of Ivory soap that do not float
as the original, and would sink due to the altered ingredients, but also
would avoid dissolving too fast when wet.
Ingredients articals
The Ivory soap bar (classic) had contained sodium tallowate, sodium
cocoate or sodium palm kernelate, water, sodium chloride, sodium
silicate, magnesium sulfate, and fragrance. The soap bar had a
determined pH value: 9.5.

Herbal Dyes
Dyes prepared using natural objects, especially medicinal plants and natural
vegetables. They have been commanding a huge market due to their obvious
advantages.
Natural dyes find use in the colouringof textiles, drugs, cosmetics, etc. Owing to
their nontoxiceffects, they are also used for colouring variousfood products. In
India, there are more than 450 plantsthat can yield dyes.
Nowadays much of the stress in textile industry is given on Herbal dyes that use
only natural plants and minerals for all steps of the production process. The
advantages of the dyes extracted from the medicinal plants origin from
renewable resources, limited chemical reactions involved in their preparation,
Biodegradable properties, health curing properties, and harmony with nature.
Three types of dyes are there through plants, animals and minerals
Plant dyes
Many natural dyestuff and stains were obtained mainly from plants and
dominated as sources of natural dyes, producing different colours like red,
yellow, blue, black, brown and a combination of these. Almost all parts of
the plants like root, bark, leaf, fruit, wood, seed, flower, etc. produce
dyes.
Animal dyes
Cochineal is a brilliant red dye produced from insects living on cactus
plants. The properties of the cochineal bug were discovered by pre-
Columbian Indians, who dried the female insects under the sun, and then
ground the dried bodies to produce a rich red powder. When mixed with
water, the powder produced a deep, vibrant red colour. Cochineal is still
harvested today on the Canary Islands. In fact, most cherries today have
a bright red appearance through the artificial colour ‘carmine’, which is
obtained from the cochineal insect.
Mineral dyes
Ocher is a dye obtained from an impure earthy ore of iron or
ferruginous clay, usually red (hematite) or yellow (limonite). In
addition to being the principal ore of iron, hematite is a constituent
of a number of abrasives and pigments.
