Simple SAR Indicator

Guide Book

(update periodically)

The Main Idea

The SImple SAR Indicator show the trend reversal. It uses the oldest and the most reliable
indicators ever been: moving averages and SAR. The main idea is to find, where the price is
changing the direction globally, using Moving Average’s crossing and then find appropriate
moment to enter the trade, using SAR.

The simplest situation of entering the trade is show below:

Figure 1 – As soon as 2 MAs cross, we open the trade

The question is: why do we need SAR at all? We have MA cross, and this is enough?
Unfortunately, sometimes MAs cross each other too frequently and we need to eliminate this
noise:

Figure 2 SAR filters too early MA cross signals

Tuning The Indicator

There are 3 groups of parameters which deal with strategy:

Note** Signal #1 is know as Super Cross Entry Now. Signal #2 is know as Reverse Power Move
Strategy.

Red group is about MA parameters. It is standard: period, method, applied price….

Blue group is about SAR parameters. It is standard as well

The most interesting is 3rd

, black framed group. It is parameters for coupling together SAR and
MA

The parameter “Use signal type #1 (MAs cross with SAR confirms)” enables MA cross plus SAR
confirmation mode: if 2 MAs cross and at this moment SAR is pointing to the same direction, then
enter the trade. Most of the situation are processed with this type of signal (see fig .1)

The parameter “Use signal type #2 (SAR reverses with MAs confirm)” enables mode, when SAR
direction does not coincide with MA cross (see the fig. 2). For this mode we seek for SAR reversal
and then check how long ago the SAR cross was. We use parameter « Max distance from MA
cross, bars »to define how many bars back we can use in searching cross

The Tweaks
Tweaking your indicator is critical. As you just saw there are many different tweaks you can do to
make this indicator perform better over time.

Here are the current defaults:

We have come up with a list of settings we think you should try based on your level of trading the
markets.

Scalper Settings (M1-M15)

Most scalpers are known to get in and out of trades quickly so they need the indicator to perform
quickly.

Because of that, the indicator will need a tune up when you are trading these lower time frames.

Here are some recommended settings you can try that our team have tested and had success:

Note** We highlighted the settings that are not a default setting

Conclusion
In conclusion, we recommend you try out some of these setting if you are having a hard time
deciding on what to tweak.

Some of our team experienced 5, 8, 3, 5 wins in a row with some of these settings as default.

A few things to note about this indicator.

We don’t trade every signal that is given….

If the Simple SAR shows you an entry you still have to make the trade.

The best success you will find using this system is analyzing price action before making the final
call to make the trade.

Look for support or resistance being broke. Look and see if price is consolidating and if it is and
you see a trigger then don’t take that trade. This indicator is designed to help you spot new
trades emerging and ready to break out

For example:

You see here that the price has not broke any prior support or resistance levels.

However when we saw this signal appear after it broke a support level then we can trade this
with confidence

This was a H4 time chart so was a quick 150 pips in basically one day of trading.

Updates
Below you will find the new features and updates to the indiactor..

NEW UPDATE: September 2017

This update allows the trader to see potentially when the two moving averages will cross each
other which will be a good indication that there is a trend reversal in the making!

You can turn this off by selecting enabled to “false” if you do not want to see this new feature.
