What penguin are you?

Our Iceberg is melting is an inspiring books to read. It talks about leadership, organization and
how to handle difficult situation. Well, the story takes place in an Iceberg as usual then it’s going
to submerge. There are five heroic penguins namely Nono, Louis, Alice, buddy and the professor
who group themselves to fix the issue. Each of them has different traits and one has a specific
purpose. Nono who is narrow-minded, Louis is very tranquil in the situation but effective as a
leader also he is a motivate leader, Fred who is observant through the situation, the professor
who is very intellectual and lastly Alice who is very tough. These five is what comprises to be a
leader but the question is what penguin I am. Well, I think I am a Louis kind of type of leader
and here is why.

First of all, I will explain what Louis did that made me think I am similar to him. First he is the
one who unites the colony and encourages them to go through the situation. He is the one who
motivates them to accomplish the challenge of the iceberg. I am like Louis if I was a leader.
There was one instance that I became a leader of this science project. My group mates told me
that it’s too impossible and we need to seek help from a professional or just to quit but I told
them with a calm voice “We can do this, if a disable can reach his destination so we can”. I am
that type of person who helps and motivates others to accomplish their goals. Louis is also
known for his effective leadership. I can relate to that (not to brag) because each destination I
passed with my team we accomplish it. Even though there are difficulties we pass in the path, we
manage to get through it and accomplish it. There are a lot of examples I can site but one of the
most memorable example that I can say that I am effective as a leader is the time we are about to
lose in basketball and the team is already hopeless. I told them that “if there is a will, there is a
way and if we quite now then nothing good will happen to us”. As effective leader, I motivate
them and strategize to win the game. Because of my leadership skills and faith of God, we clutch
the game and win bronze medal. To be an effective leader doesn’t need a team or an organization
to be with. For an instant, you can be an effective leader by helping your friend’s ambition or
help your family succeed and I think that’s what I really am.

In life, we have our own iceberg and we can be the 5 characters stated in the introduction. The
story is telling us that no matter what kind of leader are you, if you help someone with a difficult
situation and that’s what an effective leader is.
