The purpose of the research paper is to assert the crucial role of human
factor in the automation manufacturing industry system and show the
consequences when there is no proper evaluation to the processes such
as design, installation, maintenance and so on that have significant
influences on the performance of the system, nevertheless, those can
not be accomplished without the participation of human. The author
offers further research about how humans interact with the machines of
the system, and noticeably the dependence of system on employee’s
experiences and knowledge.
The paper is well-organized as the author clearly divided his research
into five parts, each of them focuses on each aspect, and maintains a
close association to support the main topic. It is also a reliable study
because author’s statement is well supported by the specific evidence
given in path fourth of the paper. Specifically, the writer gives a real
example of the problem of an of modern automated solutions in a bid
industrial company in Poland. In general, the new machine purchased by
the company failed to meet the expectation and the main reason is the
lack of capable worker in design the concept of the machine. This
example, in general, provides a strong evidence for the main concept of
the research paper. It is praiseworthy that the paper has a clear
description about it’s purpose and content and a well-written literature
for reader to get the whole picture of the research paper.
However, the research still suffers from a series of pitfall. A remarkable
one is the paper is not highly academic as there is a lack of specialized
terms used by author. In the research paper, writer shows a certain
amount of examples and statistic numbers, however, it is necessary for a
research study to have more examples with clear explanation and
analysis to support strongly for the topic of the subject. Another
considerable pitfall of this paper is the shortage of analysis on multiple
aspects of the automated manufacturing system. The paper only
provides information of the drawback of the system but not any
references to it’s advantages which makes the paper become one-sided.
Although it can be understood as a method of author to emphasize the
role of human factor in the automated system. Although the statement
of author is supported by well-founded evidence, there still no
confirmation that there will be no technology in the future that have the
capacity of replacing the role of human factor in automated system as
technology is more and more advanced. It can be better if the author let
the reader be decided whether the human still remains their crucial role
in the automated system or not.
All in all, the research paper has succeeded in providing readers with a
knowledge of the automated system and the important role of human
factor in the system in the current time and near future. The well-
organized paper and well-written literature gives readers a clear,
comprehensible picture of the whole paper.
