= B.J Habibie
President of Indonesia
Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie or often called B.J.Habibie was born in Pare-Pare, South Sulawesi on
June 25, 1936. He was born to the couple Alwi Abdul Jalil Habibie and R.A. Tuti Marini
Puspowardojo. Habibie is married to Hasri Ainun Habibie and has 2 children, Ilham Akbar and
Thareq Kemal.
After his father died, he moved to Bandung to study at Middlebare School Gouvernments. He
became a favorite figure in his school. After graduating from high school in Bandung, he
continued to ITB then continued to Technische Hochschule.
 After that, he worked in the most advanced aircraft industry in Germany. He is also trusted to
hold positions as Managing Director (Managing Director), such as Managing Director of PT.
Industri Perkapalan Indonesia and Managing Director of PT. Industrial Light Weapons. He also
served as the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Vice President of the Republic of
Indonesia, and the State Minister for Research and Technology / Head of BPPT.
Habibie had a problem that he had to face with sincerity and grace when he served as president,
namely the release of Timor-Leste from Indonesia because his people asked for a referendum
(handing over a problem to the people so that they were determined, so it was not decided by a
meeting or by parliament) Habibie then stated in his speech that the province had separated
itself from Indonesia. And finally Habibie was dismissed as President because his accountability
speech was rejected by the MPR.
B.J.Habibie also received many awards, including being an honorary Professor (Professor) at ITB,
getting a Diploma from Technische Hochschule, getting a Doctorate in aircraft construction,
becoming a favorite figure in his high school, and becoming the father of Indonesian Technology
