ABSTRACT
This research explores the different stages and procedures of types of trials provided in the
Code of Criminal Procedure. We aim to better understand the processes of trials in India. The
three types of trials mainly: Warrant Trial, Summon Trial and Summary Trial are our areas of
focus. Our scope lies only to the extent of understanding the process in the Indian context and
for understanding the language of the code and hence in the literal interpretation of it for our
better understanding. The jurisdictions of these trials, the basis of their classifications and the
difference in the procedure of each type are our area of research. The criminal trials are well
established statutory, administrative and judicial framework.
