8. TEST PROCEDURES

8.1. Wash the sealing ring, metal ring, glass plate and beaker at 80±1.0℃ with a washing machine.

8.1.1. Store the above except for the glass plate in a place where contamination can be avoided until test. The
beaker shall stand upside down.

8.2. Put the glass plate into the ultrasonic washing machine to wash again.

8.2.1. Fill the ultrasonic washing machine with washing fluid in 6.11.

8.2.2. Put the glass plate into the washing machine to operate at 23±5℃ for 18±2 hours.

8.2.3. Subsequently operate the washing machine at 55±5℃ for 5 minutes.

8.2.4. Take out the glass plate and clean it with ion-exchange water. Subsequently, clean it again with a sponge,
which contains no plasticizer, wetted with distilled water.

8.2.5. Dry it inside a oven set to 70±5℃ for 30±5 minutes.

8.2.6. Cool it at 23±5℃.

8.2.7. Perform test within 30 minutes after cooling.

8.3. Before test, measure the reflectance value of the glass plate.

8.3.1. According to the equipment manual, calibrate the glossmeter.

8.3.2. With the glass plate placed on the black matte in 6.16, measure and record the reflectance value at 4 points
(R01, R02, R03, R04) while rotating it 90。.

8.4. Turn on the power switch of the temperature cabinet and set temperature to the test conditions for each part
specified in clause 7.

8.5. Put the beaker inside the cabinet so that a clearance of 60±2mm is maintained between the heat transmitting
fluid surface and the beaker top surface.

8.6. Put the test piece into the beaker furnished with a sealing ring. A metal ring may be placed on the test piece in
order to prevent swelling or rolling of the test piece.

8.7. Place the glass plate onto the beaker (in a way that the surface for which reflectance is measured faces the
beaker). Insert a sealing ring between the glass plate and beaker to prevent the volatilized organic constituents
from escaping.

8.8. Place a filtering paper onto the glass.

8.9. Place the condenser, which is connected to the temperature control, onto the filtering paper.

8.9.1. Keep the refrigerant temperature to 25±0.5℃.

8.10. Under the specified temperature conditions, conduct test.(test time; for 3 hours more than 90℃, for 6 hours
less than 90℃)

8.11. Upon the test being completed, remove the glass plate in a way that it will not contact the organic constituent
membrane.

8.12. Store the glass plate in a place free from dusts and wind under the standard conditions so that the
membrane-formed surface faces upwards.

8.13. After 30 ~ 60 minutes from starting exposure, measure the reflectance of the glass plate in the method
specified in clause 8.3. (R11, R12, R13, R14)

8.14. Prior to the reflectance measuring, perform visual inspection. If the test piece shows formation of organic
constituents in the form of drops on the membrane surface before reflectance measuring, it shall be rejected
without having to measure reflectance.

8.15. Control test by reference standard solution

8.15.1. For regular inspection of the equipment and tests for arbitration purposes, apply the methods specified in
clauses 8.1 – 8.14 based on the reference standard solution (DIDP) to all glass plates used to measure accuracy of
the equipment.

8.15.2. When clauses 8.1 ~ 8.14 are repeated under 100±1.0℃ of test temperature for 3 hours, the reflectance
of all glass plates shall be kept to a range of (77±5)%.

9. EVALUATION AND INDICATION OF RESULTS

9.1. Calculate the reflectance measured at 4 points of the glass plate before and after the test by the following
formula:
⎡R R R R ⎤
F = ⎢ 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 ⎥ × 25
⎣ R01 R02 R03 R04 ⎦
F = Reflectance value of a glass plate in %
R01, R02, R03, R04 = Reflectance values before the test
R11, R12, R13, R14 = Reflectance values after the test

9.2. Requirements : Results of the test as performed under conditions specified in clause 7 shall meet the
following requirements:
