Speech- To- Text
• While it is a convenient tool for people
without disabilities, speech-to-text
provides a learning advantage for
students who have mobility or dexterity
problems, and those who are blind.
• It allows students to speak their
thoughts without typing and even
navigate the Internet.
• Speech-to-text options can also “talk
back” to students and let them know
about potential errors in their work.
• You can subscribe to online software programs. Some are free but a good one would
be Transcribe. (https://transcribe.wreally.com/)
• A Self Transcription: includes integrated editor and media player, unlimited voice-
typing (dictation), keyboard shortcuts, foot pedal integration, Automatic Text
Expander, and Playback Loops.
-$20 for the whole year!
• Automatic Transcription: Includes self-transcription features, plus machine
transcription, 1-hour turn-around, automatic timecodes, speaker identification, and
trim audio duration.
- $20 a year plus $6 for Audio hour
Smart Boards
• Improves student-teacher collaboration and interaction
• Encourages teachers to teach in real-time with audios and
videos lessons, visual multimedia & PPT presentations, 2D &
3D virtual space, etc.
• Paperless advantages
• Enhances Real-time blended teaching and learning methods
• Creates Web and Internet-based teaching and learning
platform for teacher and students respectively
• Improves distance learning
• Contributes to the mental, physical, and social-emotional
development of students
• Integrates with other technology-enhanced learning
applications to share study materials, course curriculum,
assignments, reading resources, and many more
Smart Boards
• They range from about $700-$1000 depending on the size
and whether it is wired or wireless off the Smart Board
website. You can find them cheaper online on Ebay but I
think it is better for schools to be safe and get them new.
• Schools can order these online off of many different
websites. A good one with a little bit cheaper prices would

• Teachers can use smart boards in their classrooms for many
reasons.
• It can improve class management and provide academic and
digital learning to students in the classroom.
• Kahoot is used as an
educational technology in
schools.
• It is a game based learning
platform
• Kahoot can be used to review
students' knowledge, for
formative assessment, or as a
break from traditional
classroom activities and also
includes trivia quizzes.
• Depending on the age of the
students, most children have
cell phones that the teachers
can have them pull out for a
short period of time to do this
assessment.

• This software is free. All you need is to have
internet connection and a web browser.
• To get to Kahoot!, search
<https://kahoot.it/> and it will take you to
where you enter an access code. The teacher
or student presenting will give the class the
access code to get into the game.
• Kahoot is a fun way to get students engaged.
Games can be more fun and appealing to
children then the traditional learning styles.
