1.) Describe how to plan an effective training program


Planning begins with establishing objectives for the training program.
 Step 1: Perform a Training Needs Assessment.
 Step 2: Keep Adult Learning Principles in Mind.
 Step 3: Develop Learning Objectives.
 Step 4: Design Training Materials.
 Step 5: Develop Your Training Materials.
 Step 6: Implement the Training.
 Step 7: Evaluate the Training.
 Step 8: Rinse, Lather, and Repeat Any Step When Necessary.
2.) What are your possible answers to needs assessment questions?
The process of evaluating the organization, individual employees, and employees’ tasks
to determine what kinds of training, if any, are necessary.
 Organization – What is the context I which training will occur?
 Person – Who need training?
 Task – What subjects should the training cover?

3.) What should managers do to support training?


 Understand the content training
 Know how training relates to what you need employees to do.
 In performance appraisal, evaluate employees on how they apply training to their
jobs.
 Support employees use of training when they return to work.
 Ensure that employees have the equipment and technology needed to use
training.
 Prior to training, discuss with employees how they plan to use training.
 Recognize newly trained employees who use training content.
 Give employees release time from their work to attend training.
 Explain to employees why they have been asked to attend training.
 Give employees feedback related to skills or behavior they are trying to develop.

4.) What are the different training methods?


 Technology-Based Learning
 Simulations – a training method that represents a real – life situation, with
trainees making decisions resulting in outcomes that mirror what would
happen on the job uses: Avatars and Virtual Reality
 Business Games and Case Studies – Case study are detailed descriptions od
a situation that trainees study and discuss and Business games require
trainees to gather information analyse it and make decisions that influence
the outcome of the game.
 Experiential programs
 Adventure Learning
 On job training
