BATANGAS CITY, Apr.

11 (PIA)- The Bureau of Internal Revenue District Office 058 intensifies its
campaign on Tax Code as they started their kick off activity at NuCiti Mall here, recently.

The agency listed the municipal governments of Lobo, Mabini, San Pascual, the city government
of Batangas and the provincial government of Batangas as top performing local government
units (LGUs) in Batangas.

“We are currently and continuously intensifying our campaign on Tax Code, reminding the
public of their responsibility to pay their taxes correctly. We also encouraged all business
establishments whether individual or group-owned to declare the right taxes to refrain them
from being penalized once caught,” said told by Revenue District Officer Atty. Elmer Carolino.

Every Filipino must know their responsibility of paying the right taxes and upholding the
guidelines of BIR.

In relation to the campaign, BIR RR9-A CABAMIRO has filed a case on Batangas Country Club,
after it has violated the tax code for failure to register.

According to Carolino, said establishment, which is owned and operated by PCK Trade and
Realty Corporation based in Quezon City has been operating for 17 years and is registered at
the city hall, however, they have no records with the BIR.

“Every violation under section 256 of Tax Code or unlawful pursuit of business per year equals
one count so for 17 years, they have 17 counts. Usually for juridical personality or corporation
we file complaints against the chairman/president and treasurer or other responsible persons,”
he said.

After conducting several surveillance, BIR has finally issued a mission order explaining the
establishment's violation and reminded them of complying but as of press time they are non-
compliant.
