ABOUT VIPS
Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is a pioneer institute in the arena of education
has catered to the society for almost two decades. Accredited ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment
and Accreditation Council (NAAC) & Recognized under Section 2(f) of UGC, VIPS is, affiliated to
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Dwarka, New Delhi and has been recognized

ABOUT VSJMC
Vivekananda School of Journalism & Mass Communication (VSJMC) is the Centre of Excellence
for the Bachelors programme in Journalism and Mass Communication. The Centre offers rigorous
hands-on practical training and academic excellence. VSJMC boasts of being the first choice of
students year after year. It has a glad state of the art studio. It has well-qualified & skilled faculty to
chisel the budding media professionals to produce both industry leaders and university toppers. The
students of school are serving in various prestigious media organizations.

THE CONFERENCE
The prime objective of organizing this two - day national conference on “Media Literacy and
Communication for Sustainable Development ” is to provide a common platform to all the major
stakeholders to discuss and deliberate over the concern of sustainable development and the
possible role of media in promoting the same. It also aims to explore the role that media can play
in contributing towards building a sustainable society. The term sustainable development and its
vital purpose of forming a sustainable society are particularly defined in the government manifesto
especially in India. Sustainable development has been an issue for concern for mankind and the
influence of media and communication for development is undeniable. Thus, the conference aims at
exploring the role of media in contributing towards building a sustainable society.

CONFERENCE OUTCOMES
With the media and communication sector becoming more diverse and dynamic, its consumption
rate is on the rise since time ever. What is to be noted is that the along with consumption, people also
need to understand its role. In this context, the major outcome of this conference would be engaging
in terms of communication and media literacy for having a broader understanding of the limitations
and opportunities associated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Submission Guidelines
The abstract and full paper should be sent through Email- conferencevsjmc@gmail.
com The selected papers will be published in a reputed UGC listed Journal/ Edited
volume with ISBN number.

The abstract should not exceed 300 words. It should include objective, methodology
and summary of results. It should also include title of the abstract, the author’s
name, designation, institutional affiliation, mailing address, contact number and
E-mail ID with the subject line “Media Literacy and Communication”.The
length of the full paper including tables, diagrams, illustrations, references, etc.
should not exceed 5000 words. The full paper should be typed in MS-Word with
Times New Roman 12 and Kruti Dev 010 font in 14 size for Hindi with 1.5 lining
space. Bibliographical references should be in the APA format.
