❏ Complete Writing: The past few weeks we have read a lot about the causes and
solutions for climate change. Your assignment this week is to take all of the
information you have learned and write a letter to a congressman requesting
them to take specific action related to climate change. This is a big assignment
and will take you at least 2 hours to complete (maybe more). Here are the steps:
1. Visit https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials to see who your senator or
congressman is and find their mailing address.
2. Do you believe climate change is a problem that the government needs to
address? Or do you believe climate change is not a problem that the
government needs to worry about? Choose your position and then reread
the articles about climate change to find supporting evidence that you can
include in your letter.
3. Draft your letter. In the beginning, clearly state your position on what, if
anything, the government should do to fight climate change. Be sure to
include some facts, data and/or quotes from the articles to make your
argument.

couple important details from each article in your Book of Knowledge.

❏ If you didn’t finish reading Chapters 6 and 7 of “The Run” last week, finish it now. When you
finish the story, post your review of it in the “Comment” section at the bottom of our website.
Would you recommend the story to someone else? Did you like the ending or would you have
had it end in a different way?
