"Drew, there's something I really have to tell you.

"

"Well, go ahead, I'm listening..."

"No, I mean... in private..."

"...Uh... okay."

The two men leave the crowded park and head for a cafe.

"So Rei, what did you have to tell me?"

"Well, you see..."

"Can you make it quick? I have other things to attend to."

"...Well, it's just that I've... been looking at you and your group for some time now..."

"And?"

"Well... I'd really like to join your group"

"What? Why would you ask ME about it? We're a group that has fun for a reason! Because it's not led by
a single person."

"It's just that..."

"That what? That you think you can j-"

"No! It's not that... It's just that... I've had feelings for someone for a while now... and so I want to join
your group in order to get closer to that person."

"But Rei, there's only men in our group, you can't mean that-- Oh Rei! I'm afraid no one in the group is...
like that."

"It doesn't matter! Trying is sure as hell better than giving up! I want to convey my feelings to that
person even if they can't possibly accept them."

"I see... Well, can you tell me who that person is?"

"...N-No... I can't."

"Fine. I'll what I can do about it But don't expect anything!"

"Y-Yes! Thank you, Drew."

Rei gets up and puts a $5 bill on the table, then leaves with a bright smile on his face.

Drew stay there, sitting down, pondering on what to do. The discovery of Rei's homosexuality shocked
him, and he needed time to get his thoughts together
"Well guys, Rei is going to be joining the student council for a while, so... get along with him!"

Everyone: ""Kayy!"

The rest of the group seems to have accepted that really fast. Maybe out of apathy, maybe out of
boredom, but the fact remains that Rei's arrival into the student council was accepted unanimously.

Since then, weeks have passed. The student council went on a 4-days school trip, set up the sports
festival and overall, had a lot of fun. With the graduation ceremony closing in, Rei decided it was time to
take a step forwards. His plan had worked masterfully, the people in the student council now considered
him a friend, without exeption.

As the reunion ended, Rei went to Drew, and told him he wanted to talk to him after everyone had left.

"So, Rei, what's up?"

"You remember when I asked you to join the council?"

"Yeah... of course I do. At first I was reluctant... but now I can't imagine the group without you. You bring
life to the group, and I'm sorry I doubted you at first."

"It's okay, Drew, I understand."

"But now that I think about it... Didn't you join us... for a specific reason? I haven't seen you trying to get
close to anyone, you just look like you're enjoying your school life normally."

"Haha! That's because I am. But other than that, I have something to tell you."

"Oh, student council-related work?"

"No, something more personnal."

"Rei..."

"Drew...I... I love you."

Those words ringed in Drew's head for a moment. How could it be possible? When Drew heard that Rei
wanted to get close to someone in the group, he was crushed! He had liked Rei for a long time, and he
though Rei was looking at someone else, but this confession, he just wasn't expecting it.

"I... I don't know what to say, Rei..."

"It... It's okay. I get it. You just... don't see me like that."

Rei excuses himself and quickly leaves the room. As the door is closing, Drew can see a single tear drop
from Rei's eyes, but only for a moment.

Without thinking, Drew gets up and chases after Rei.

"(It can't end that way! It just can't)

Rei! REI!!!"
---

Drew: Just. No...

Rei: For the last time, Calvin, we're not doing a play for the cultural festival, and if we were I really
wouldn't agree to doing this specific one.

Drew: Yeah, it's just plain wrong! I don't have anything against homosexual people, but I really don't
want to do that stupid play of yours. Find some other people for that.

Calvin takes his script back and leaves, angry that no one understands his art. His reasearch for actors
will continue for a while...

Drew: Man, that was a really scary story.

Rei: Yeah, It's just fucked up. Come on, let's go, Drew

Walking towards the door, Drew holds his hands to his side. Rei, still walking, grabs Drew's hand,
without looking at him or even ceasing walking. The two men leave the backstage, holding hands, but
not looking at each other.
