Time  10−15 minutes
Materials  1 handout for each student
• Give each student a handout and tell them to complete task
A. Check answers as a class, ensuring students can explain
why the items are different.

• Tell students to complete task B, then check answers as a
class. Make sure students are able to explain the idioms and
vocabulary and provide synonyms where appropriate.

• Working in pairs, students complete task C. Encourage them
to make use of the target language from the lesson as far
as possible. Give them time to come up with ideas for and
rehearse their role-plays, then ask for volunteers to present
their dialogues to the class. At the end, students could vote
for the role-play they think offered the best/worst advice, was
the funniest/most original, made the best use of the new
vocabulary, etc.
