I am writing this letter to express my sincerest gratitude to you for making the Provincial Scholarship Program possible. I made it last semester and it was really a big help. I am able to buy books that I need in my education. In addition, I was thrilled knowing that I am one of the pre-qualified college students again in the initial evaluation on the said program for the second semester. I am Perbielyn Basinillo, a first year taking a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa Manila. I am one of the daughters of Mr. Percival and Ruby Basinillo; we are five in the family. We are living in a relocation site/housing project for five year, the Eagleville in Brgy. Malia, GMA, Cavite. My father is the sole earner of the family and my mother is a housewife. Both, my sister and I, is in the tertiary education that is why there are chances that we are being financially constraint. Therefore, I am in great happiness knowing that you are doing a great effort on helping and giving opportunities to college students especially, the financially challenged students, like me. The financial problem that we are experiencing does not hinder my dreams in life. I have been a consistent honor student since my elementary days up to now. I never had any failing grades and bad records. Apparently, my high school and senior high school years bloom my career as an achiever student. I completed my Junior High School as rank one and with high honors among all of the completing students at Bulihan National High School in Silang, Cavite. During my senior high school years, I took ABM Strand as my prerequisite for the program that I will take in college. Last school year, I graduated as one of the “With Highest Honors” among all of the graduating students at General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School in G.M.A., Cavite. The reason for these achievements is that I learned that we are not fortunate, financially, and education is my greatest key to make my family stable. Currently, I am a college student taking a degree in Accountancy. Last semester, I am included to the list of the “President’s Lister” because of my overall GWA (1.29). Honestly, I am striving, fighting, and surviving every day, so that I will be able to continue my studies. College is really a tough one; it challenges my mental ability and pocket of my parents. We are in need of lot of things and I am lacking resources, financially. I hope that this scholarship can accompany me throughout my journey as a college student. I have a big dream for the family, and I will be able to finish my studies with the help of this scholarship. If it is to be granted, I assure that I will really take care of it. As you can see, education is my first priority because I know that it is one that can help my family, my relatives, my community, and me. Again, Gov. Remulla, I am in deep gratitude for your generosity to help the financially challenged students in their studies. I promised that I would give back to others the help you gave me, both as an accountant, and possibly give scholarship to others in the future. I pray you more power and strength for the kindness that you are giving to others. May God bless you and your administration, Sir. Thank you.
