My teaching philosophy is rooted in my objective to efficiently teach all my students and inspire in them
a love of learning. I would like for my students to understand that education is a lifelong process, and
they have to deposit their time into it, in order to withdraw the gnosis or the knowledge that they are
seeking.
I am a passionate educator who has been on every end of the academic spectrum. I have been a
student, and I have also worked as an student advisor, and I have also worked in campus recreation,
financial aid, records and registration, a student assistant librarian, a student computer lab and training
faciliatator, and I have even assisted with educating students and faculty alike that needed help with
online educational software such as Angel and Blackboard.
By understanding that each person is unique and that students learn in different ways, I believe it is
essential for educators to approach each student based on where they are, and where they are trying to
go. I believe that students are future teachers, and be treated as scholars, and not as subordinates. In
that regard, I believe that students’ opinions of various classroom instructional matters and discussion
that occurs in the classroom, both online and in actual classrooms, should be spoken within the
parameters of classroom dialogue. I also believe in the strength of scholarship, so I am an advocate for
encouraging students to support their statements or academic opinions with expert scholars from the
field that they are discussing. I continue to improve my own teaching by engaging in careful reflection.
This allows me to think critically about what works and what doesn't. Then, I am able to adapt my own
teaching to better meet the needs of my students.
Additionally, because all students are different, they will respond differently to assessments, thus I
believe in giving a multitude of assessments including: tests or quizzes, papers, projects, presentations,
dioramas, and other assessments to gain a better understanding of what my students know.

Entering this ever evolving field of education where new technologies are being implemented and
innovative strategies are being discovered, I will continue to keep myself educated and constantly
reading and learning about new ways that may meet the needs of my students even more effectively.
My philosophy will continue to guide me throughout this noble profession.
