Mission, Objectives, Philosophy, and Goals

Mission
The Saint John the Baptist Learning Center clearly states its mission to provide a quality
education to all agents of learning, SJBLC does its best to improve all aspects of learning.
Through Innovative Catholic Education, and Transformative Spiritual Formation towards
Integrative Community Engagement.

Objectives
1. To ensure that students with disabilities are provided access to the general education
curriculum and extra -curricular activities in the regular education setting to the
maximum extent possible with assistive supports to maintain the student in the
appropriate private or public schools that the student would attend if not disabled.
2. To promote collaborative practices across educational settings between regular staff,
special educators and related service providers.
3. To promote holistic formation towards Christian Leadership, Dedicated Service, and self-
stewardship.

Philosophy
We believe that Saint John the Baptist Learning Center firmly commits to the vision,
mission and values of Christ’s way of life. We recognize the religious, ethnic, social, and
economic diversity of youth. We strive to build a Catholic faith community where parents are the
primary educators of their children and the staffs as facilitators of their children’s learning.
Together, the parents, administration, staff, parish, and school board nurture the holistic growth
of each student and provide opportunities for the fullest self-realization of the individual’s
highest potential.

Goals
1. To provide support services, a flexible and individualized support system for both
children with special needs and regular students in a regular class environment in schools
nearest the students’ home.
2. To provide qualified and well-trained special education staff.
3. To provide staff development to general educators regarding appropriate
accommodations and techniques for meeting the needs of all students in the general
education program.
