3. Explain how was the relationship between Wilkins and Watson with Rosalind Franklin in
their work.
4. Explain how the structure that Pauling thought for DNA was.
5. What was the importance of the work made by Rosalind Franklin?
6. What was the “photo 51”?
7. Explain how the double helix structure that Watson and Crick discovered is.

Remember:

Copy, is not allowed in the exams. If you try to make copy, the exam will be void.

There can be no two exams with the same answers.

You have time for delivering the exam until 5:00 pm. I only receive this exam through your emails.

I’m available looking forward your questions the last two hours of class on Wednesday.

Development:

1. The researchers and scientists knew that DNA was composed of phosphate and sugar
molecules that were linked to form chains, also four-types of molecules: adenine,
cytosine, guanine, and thymine
2. He discovered that protein molecules could take the shape of a coil, called an alpha helix
3. The thing was that Rosalind Franklin was studying DNA´s molecule, but she wasn´t
interested in Pauling´s diagram, she distrusts the scientific method, but they competed
more than work together. Because of that, the director of the lab they were using to
investigate, had to give them divided spaces, and also, he had to divide the research
4. Pauling imagined a triple helix of phosphate and sugar chains twisting around each other
with the nitrogen bases attached and pointing outward, like leaves on a tree branch
5. Because the image she took prove the guess she has about the structure of the DNA
6. It was an image made in x-rays that shows the structure of the DNA
7. It has an form that rush in two spiral staircases curving around each other for 6 feet or 1.8
meters
