MISSION
Trusting in the grace of God and in the guidance of the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Mother, we commit

Promote renewed and integral evangelization,
Empower the laity and form servant leaders, and
Commune with the poor, the oppressed and the marginalized, and work for their upliftment through
building and developing the Basic Ecclesial Communities towards human development and social

On April 29, 1991, Cardinal Sin assisted Bishop Buhain, presided over the canonical erection of the parish
community, the solemn consecration of the parish church, and the installation of the first parish priest Fr. Gerry
Tapiador. The La Salette Missionaries took over in 1994 with Fr. Francisco Maliwat, MS, in 1997 with Fr.
Antonio Abuan, MS, in 2000 with Fr. Stevan Munar, MS, and in 2004 with Fr. Andreas Sudarsono, MS. On
August 9, 2007, a Diocesan priest, Rev. Fr. Mario S. Sanchez, took over and after 6 yrs., our beloved Fr.
Nonnette C. Legaspi is the current Parish Priest of Christ the King.
