1 Overview
This Manual is a guidance related personnel of a MTK common platform of smart phone to
manage this tool to upgrade software.

2 Applicability
This Manual is apply to related personnel of a MTK common platform of smart phone with
upgrading software.

3 Preparation

4 Driver installation
Extract the Driver All-in-One.rar, select the appropriate driver, double-click to begin the
installation. Operation is as follows:

Click Next button.

click Install to begin the installation, during the installation process there are a few tips:

Installation is completed.

5 Procedure

5.1 Run “flash tool” tool

1) The tool has no installation needed, double click the “flash_tool.exe” and open the
program, as the figure below：

5.2 Config flashtool download tool

1) Please select USB Mode on the “Options” , and configure Speed of High Speed As
shown:

Note:if you have removed the battery,please configure Battery of w/o battery(in
the blue box above)
2) Click the Scatter-loading button (red box shown in Figure one). On the corresponding
path, you need to choose a scatter file download package files (with scatter words. Txt
file), select and open it (Figure two shown):

5.3 Software upgrade with USB

1) Make sure that your phone is disconnected with the computer. Choose Firmware
Upgrade,then click Download as the figure below:

2) the software moves to “Ready for downloading” status as shown in the figure below:

3) Turn off the phone and make sure that the battery has power. Then connect the
phone and the PC side with a download cable, that is to start the download, the

download process as Figure one -> Figure two -> Figure three -> Figure four
sequence shown:（another way ,you can remove battery,then while you pressing the
volume key(+) connect the phone and the PC side with a download cable,then
unpress volume key(+). In this way, you need configure battery of w/o battery,see
the Figure in page 8）

4) When upgrade complete and progress bar show 100%, it would appear “OK” mean
upgrade accomplish as the figure below:

Exit: Close the “Download OK” small window, unplug the USB cable from the phone,
and turn off the download window. Then we can turn on the phone to enter
engineering mode to check the version of the software that we just upgraded.

6 Notes
Download Software: First, make sure the phone is not connected to the PC. Secondly,
open the Flash_tool.exe download tool, select the download mode, and configured for
high-speed downloads, and then select loading file--scatter file. Thirdly, select
Firmware Upgrade and click Download button, and turn off the phone. Then connect
the phone and the PC side with a download cable to start the upgrade.

7 FAQ

1. The first issue

Reason:
a. The version of this software is not suitable.
b. The USB cable is not well connected. Try to change a USB interface or reconnect
the phone and PC again.
c.After Format then directly firmware upgrade ,this problem will arise. You can select
Download only,after Download only then do firmware upgrade.

2. The second issue

When remove battery and configure Battery of auto detect this issue will arise.you can
configure Battery of w/o battery.
