ABSTRACT

The expanded consideration given to the subject of green supply chain management (GSCM) warrants
the composition of this research. The idea of GSCM is to coordinate ecological reasoning into supply
chain management (SCM). In that capacity, GSCM is imperative in affecting the aggregate natural effect
of any associations engaged with supply chain exercises. Supply chain supervisors have an extraordinary
job in creating inventive ecological innovations to handle the issues looked by the economy on natural
issues and impart this to each partner in the chain. (journal A)

In this paper, we focus on the implementation of Green Supply Chain Management in the automobile
sector considering some of the worlds largest vehicle manufacturers such as Toyota, General Motors,
Volkswagen and Honda for green supply chain implementation in their organization. The research
addresses mainly certain critical questions, what are the key parameters in implementing Green supply
chain management in automobile sector, challenges associated to it and how does implementing Green
supply chain help an organization increase or decrease in efficiency.

The data was mainly collected from various secondary sources such as the Literature reviews, Journal
articles, sustainability reports, annual repots of the companies, newspapers and other supporting
articles. An in-depth Qualitative data analysis was done which led to an assessment of key parameters
and critical challenges associated with the implementation and based on the analysis it is noted that
implementing Green Supply chain is beneficial to an automobile company considering if these
companies can address the challenges and the benefits of this implementation is a long-term
phenomenon.

At the end of the research, valuable recommendations are provided to help in the future research of this
topic since this report has certain limitations which can be addressed to under different circumstances
of conducting the research.
