Well, I found the lecture pretty interesting, must because of the
reminiscence it gives to me to the coronavirus outbreak we are having right now.
If I´m not mistaken the speaker is Bill Gates, founder of Apple, no no I
´m joking, he is the founder of Microsoft, the eternal rival of Apple and vice versa. His story is very, very interesting, when he saw the technology of the “prehistorical windows” -let´s call it that way- he knew that was the future of computers and instantly brought it –for pocket money compared to what it costs now-, I learned about him to be able to recognize the moment and know how to capitalize a unique opportunity when it is in front of my eyes.
The Ebola virus disease (EVD), also known as Ebola hemorrhagic
fever (EHF) or simply Ebola, is a viral hemorrhagic fever of humans and other primates caused by ebolaviruses. Signs and symptoms typically start between two days and three weeks after contracting the virus with a fever, sore throat, muscular pain, and headaches. The virus spreads through direct contact with body fluids, such as blood from infected humans or other animals. Spread may also occur from contact with items recently contaminated with bodily fluids. It didn´t spread more simply because we were lucky, and mostly of 2 reasons:
1-The person that is infected starts showing symptoms after a short
time, slowing the spread.
2- There wasn´t an outbreak in cities or highly populated areas.
Argentina is not ready to affront a coronavirus outbreak, the health
system is very precarious and most important the people in the country think only for themselves, some examples of this are the people who came back from traveling and didn’t do the quarantine or the people that breaks the quarantine now simply to go play some football or do a birthday or eat an asado, and that is outrageous.
The investment in the health system is poor, and the infrastructure of it is
even worse, we are not ready to take thousands or hundreds of thousands of sick people, if this happens the system will collapse and things will be much worse.
