QUESTIONS:

1. How did Watson and Rayner condition Little Albert to fear white rats?
ANSWER:
At 9 months, Albert was tested with a white rat, a hare, cotton fleece and
other stimuli to check whether he gave a dread response or ha a fear
reaction. He did not response in accordance with his Neutral Stimuli (NS).

The analysts and researchers, Watson and Rayner likewise checked his
reaction by slamming an iron bar. Albert cried at the noisy clamor, this
shows the commotion was an Unconditioned Stimulus (UCS) and the crying
was an Unconditioned Response (UCR).

At 11 months, Albert was well conditioned and he had developed

responses. He was demonstrated the white rat multiple times. Each time
the rat was stroked with the iron bar. Albert began to cry. At the point
when the rodent was later introduced alone, Albert whimpered. The rodent
was paired again 2 more times with the noises. At the point when the
rodent was displayed alone some other time, Albert cried. This
recommends the Neutral Stimuli is currently a Conditioned Stimulus (CS)
and Albert's crying is a Conditioned Response (CR). This is how classical
condition works but this was an unethical practice and should not be done
on anyone now.

2. Do you think you have learned to fear or enjoy certain things because of
conditioning or association? Explain?
ANSWER:
I guess I have developed a fear of darkness due to classical and instrumental
conditioning done in my early childhood. The two types of learning have been
intensively developed into my personality because of which I am unable to
manage alone in the darkness. This is what conditioning does to most of us,
either we start fearing some things or we get used to some things and enjoy it.
