AKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I kindly give thanks to all those people who helped me in the way of doing my Industrial study at
21st Century and visit at Service Business Organization (Mikumi). From the bottom of my heart let me say
“thank you very much to you all for your great contribution that real assisted me learn a lot through
the study”. is not easy to mention all of them although there some of them who played a great role in
the completion of this work. However, it will be a mistake if I fail to mention some of them.

The first one is Mr. Henry S.L. Msawa the Dean of FOCB; who first taught me ,gave me the
opportunity for the visit and support, Mr. H. Msawa to me you are more than a teacher thank you very
much.

Another one is Mr.Phillip I. Masamba of SJUT; we were together at 21 st Century at Mikumi


national park; thank you for efforts and support.

I would like also to offer my thanks to Mr. Charles Mwandambo the Human Resource Manager
of 21St Century Textile Ltd Industry at Kihonda Morogoro for accepting the request from us students of
ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA to visit the Industry. Also I thank for his words of welcome and
short explanations about the History of the 21 st Century Textile Ltd Industry; Mr. Mwandambo I kindly
appreciates your contribution that day.

Another are BBA first year students especially those in stream 4, we supported each other,
thank you all.

Thanks also should go to tour guiders of Mikumi National Park who gave assistance on
explanations concerning the park along with the organization of the park.
1.0 THE PURPOSE OF THE GM 200 Field Work:

These are Practical, or Field attachment or Placements or internship where by


students in the second year of study are involved in the practicum experience that is
related to this programme of study. Students are attached to work with Small and
Medium Enterprises anywhere in Tanzania.
Objectives are

2.0 OBJECTIVES OF THE GM 200 Field Work:

i. To develop an attitude of community service among the students


ii.To develop creativity and critical thinking among the students
iii.To further the learning process through experience.

3.0 BUNDA DESIGNATED DISTRICT HOSPITAL:

Background of the organization:


The ELCT Diocese in Mara Region is owner of the hospital and run it as Designated District
Hospital for Bunda District. The hospital is situated in Bunda Town on the Musoma-Mwanza
main road. The construction work was started in August 1988. The hospital services started on
10th February 1992 but the hospital was officially opened on the 27th September,1992.

Geographical Location:
Bunda D.D.H is located in Bunda District in Mara Region.It is bounded by Magu Distric in
southern part ,Musoma Rural to the north,East by Serengeti and the lake victoria to the
West.Bunda D.D.H Occupies an area of about 5560sqm. It has capacity of 200 beds and a total
of about 169 employees, the hospital has target population of 300000 per year.
Vision
To be a consultant centre of excellence in health care provision, research and teaching, inspired
by the love and compassion of God.

Mission
Bugando Medical Centre is a referral hospital under Government and Church Partnership, which
exists to provide tertiary specialist quality health care, consultancy, research and training in
health.

Values
We are committed stewards entrusted to serve all people with integrity, compassion and love.

We are a non-profit health institution committed to provide health services that are affordable
and accessible to all. We share and work in partnership with others who share our values.

We protect and provide for the dignity of human life from the time life is conceived to its natural
end. We serve all people irrespective of religious, tribal, social standing or political background.

We abide by the word of God as an inspiration of all our activities and remain committed to
Medical and Roman Catholic ethics and regulations. We work under the guidance of the Church
and the Government policies.
