Best Practices for Safeguarding your

Cash, Traveller’s Cheques and Credit Cards

• Never store all your cash, cards and cheques in one place.
• Always bring the receipt of your traveller’s cheques with you. Traveller’s cheques
will prevent you from losing money if they are stolen.
• Never travel without a protection plan for your credit cards that ensures that you
are responsible for only a limited loss if your card is stolen or abused in any way.
• Never include the expiration date, name and the CVV number when you make
copies of your credit cards.
• Always keep receipts for all purchases made with your credit card while abroad.
• Always inform your banks of your travel plans ahead of time so that they are
aware which countries you will be going to and what time you plan to return.
