Ashlyn Moody’s Life Update

Summer
This summer, I stayed home and Took summer classes at Wake Tech Community College. I took
12 credit hours. The classes I took where, American Literature, Art, Physical education, and into
to psychology. I also helped my Aunt set up and run her online shop. She sells handmade fabric
bags, baby bibs, baby burp cloths, baby pacifier holders, as well as decorative towels.

School
As of this semester, I have changed my major to Professional Writing and I have a literature
minor. The classes I am taking are: Intro to professional writing, Intro to creative writing and
editing, Intro to the English major, research literature criticism and British literature, nonwestern
world literature, and Spanish. I am enjoying my new classes and can’t wait to see what the
semester holds.

Job
I am still working for westerns Carolinas office of admissions, working as an entourage member.
I take perspective students and tour them around the camps. We also run the four open houses
events. I currently am looking for another part time job on the campus.

Birthday
On September 14, 2018 I will be turning 21! When I was born, my mother was putrefied that I
would be born on the 13th. She is afraid of the superstition that goes with the number 13. I
thankfully was born on the 14th after many hours in labor. Doctors had to do an emergency c-
section due to fluid in my lungs. I will be spending my birthday with my friends, since I am five
hours away from home and family.

Top Book of the month

Origin by Dan Brown
I have loved everything Dan Brown has written. When I found out that he was writing a new
book in this series, I watched for the release date. As soon as it was released, I raced to the store
to by the book. I couldn’t put it down. Dan Brown puts an intresting spin on the interaction of
science and religion. This book takes place in Spain and creates a wonderful visual of the
country. Dan Brown is the author of the DaVinci Code, Angles and Demons, The lost symbol,
and inferno.

Most anticipated movie

Venom expected October 5
Most anticipated event
October 11th, 2018 the state fair comes to Raleigh. Since I live in Raleigh, my family and I go to
the fair every year. It is so strange to hear that there are some people who have never been to the
fair. I am most excited for the food, since I hate roller-coasters. I can not wait for kettle corn,
fried vegetables, corn dogs, and to try the new items of the year. I love to watch the lights when
it gets dark. The whole places changes when the lights come on.

Upcoming event
My roommate and I are throwing a Halloween party at our apartment. There will be Themed
food, games and drinks. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I am supper excited to put this
together. All are invited so don’t forget your costume. Those who don’t wear a costume, don’t
get candy.

Favorite Recipe of the Month

Chicken Alfredo with broccoli
Cut the desired amount of chicken into bite size pieces, roll them in flower and seasoning salt.
Then pan fry them in oil.
Cook noodles to desired texture. Use either pre-made alfredo or use an online recipe.
