London has many beautiful parks and public gardens. This is why the city is one of the
greenest capitals in the world.

The central Royal Parks (Hyde Park, St. James’s Green Parks and Kensington Gardens) are the
best known of London’s parks. Hyde Park is the most famous and most popular of the royal
parks. Most parks are free, but there are also private gardens. They are open daily from 7 a.m. till
7 p.m. They also offer many recreational and sporting facilities. Parents and children enjoy
coming here on Saturdays and Sundays.

Madame Tussaud’s is still one of the most popular tourist attractions in Britain. There are
many death masks in the Chamber of Horrors. You can also see the wax models of such singers
or actors as: Michael Jackson, Cher, Eddie Murphy or Sylvester Stalone. The Grand Hall is the
most important part of Madame Tussaud’s. You can admire some Kings and Queens of Britain.
They wear period costumes as they were in their lifetime. The members of the present royal
family are also present here, in the Grand Hall.

One of the most important shopping centres in London is Oxford Street. You can see many
shops in this fabulous street. It is the perfect place from where you can buy a lot of different
things: clothes, shoes, toys, sweets in stores such as: Selfridges or Lewis! The most famous
London Store is Harrods. It is not in Oxford Street, it is in Knightsbridge. People all over the
world come to London to buy things in these shops. They can also go to the best known open-air
markets. Here they can buy vegetables and fruit. Two of the best known markets are in Petticoat
Line and in Portobello Road.

You do not have to guess which is my favourite city…I visited last year with my parents and it
was love at first sight. I am still too young to realize how different British culture is from our
culture but I know that in London I would like to go to college.
