At present, DHARMAPURI SSA is having One PE router ( for MPLS n/w), one RPR-Standalone (FOR BB

N/W), 9 nos. OF OCLAN deployed in 7 SDCAs, 48 OLTs (TIP-45,Deptl-3) for FTTH connections, 3NGN-
LSWs (to handle NGN-BB traffic) for the following type of customers.

1) ADSL BB customers- 8143

2) FTTH customers -1578
3) ILL customers through BNG -42
4) ILL customers –directly through Dharmapuri PE -6

Mpls

5) Mpls ccts. Through – DPI PE -367

6) Mpls ccts . through –Salem PE -142

EXISTING BANDWIDTH TRAFFIC DETAILS:

1) RPR TRAFFIC (DPI & SLM RPRs w.r.t DPI SSA ADSL,FTTH AND ILL )  2.6Gbps
2) MPLS TRAFFIC  1.5Gbps
3) TOTAL DATA TRAFFIC  3.9Gbps
Anticipated traffic (within 1year)  2Gbps
Required bandwidth would be 5.5 Gbps

The Dharmapuri RPR (BNG- VELLORE) is handling HOSUR and DHARMAPURI SDCA’s (ADSL
+FFTH+ILL) traffic only. For remaining SDCA’s (KRISHNAGIRI,HARUR,PALACODE,UTHANGARAI AND
DENKANIKOTTA) Internet traffics are being handled by SALEM RPR (BNG- SALEM). Now the SALEM
and VELLORE BNGs are getting overloaded and we couldn’t ask for bandwidth augmentation.
Nowadays, FTTH demands are found increasing day by day which has resulted huge bandwidth
demand. Moreover, especially HOSUR is an industrial area and most of working people of Bangalore
companies are residing at HOSUR. This potentiality creates high bandwidth demand as well as they
required reliable network connectivity.
To meet the customer expectations it is hereby suggested to put ONE BNG at
Dharmqpuri and 10G backhaul with redundancy for Dharmapuri PE(MNGT R2).
