    AICTE Approval Process 2020-21

    Clarification Regarding Opening of New Courses in Emerging Areas

    As per Approval Process Handbook 2020-21, institutions running Courses in

    Engineering & Technology will be allowed to start new courses (by closing existing

    division/courses or using NBA Clause) only in Emerging Areas. In this context clarification

    regarding Opening of New Courses in Emerging Areas is given below:

    The Institutions running courses in Engineering & Technology can open new courses

    by closing exsting courses/ divisions or using NBA Clause only in Emerging Areas. In case, if

    the institutions fail to meet AICTE Norms (as defined in APH 2020-21) for getting approval

    for new courses or increase intake in Emerging Area courses, the approval status of 2019-20

    will be retained.
