Engendering many debates nowadays, the topic of crime and its emergence in the society is a

controversial concern, as treated by both presented texts. The first one emphasizes the teenagers as
being an important facet of the issue and also highlights the need for an extensive approach meant to
punish more vigorously those who repeatedly fail to abide by the rules. Notwithstanding, the second
texts aims to address the origins of this phenomenon and has a more tolerant attitude towards the
offenders, being poised to firstly prevent the desperate from falling into despair irreversibly, rather
than penalize them.

Undoubtedly the second text showcases, in my books, common causes that ariseregardless of
the affair discussed, detailing a perspective claiming to encourage anticipation as being superior to the
cure. Thus, there are circumstancesthat generally incite people to resort to taking the law in their
hands, either to do themselves justice, or simply to live another day. While it is of paramount
importance for offenders to bear the consequences of their own actions, equally essential would be to
help those in need, as an early intervention would make a huge impact on their future. Imprisonment,
though often required, would add more fuel to the flames, as one who ganged up with delinquents
would do it while in prison too, for survival reasons. Education and tolerance, however, would enable
many to follow the right path and become respected members of society.

The viewpoint expressed in the second text may indicate a desire to reward felons, whilst the
opposite has long been preferred. Nonetheless, the first text too firmly asserts the need for tighter
regulations, but these do not guarantee a cession of the offences and would prolong an immoral
behavior. I believe that redemption would make a fitter solution for rehabilitating the potential of those
concerned, due to an increased probability of relapse during incarceration alongside others cut from
the same cloth, subject to committing crimes again.
