ACCESSORIES FOR THE PIECE:

KNITTING TENSION:
21 stitches in width and 41 rows vertically in garter stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 3.5 mm, length 60 cm.
Needle size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm
switch to larger needles. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to
smaller needles.

GARTER STITCH (back and forth):

1 ridge = knit 2 rows.

DROP:

NOTE: Tighten yarn at every turn to avoid holes.

Knit 10, insert a marker here.

Turn and knit 9.

Turn and knit 8.

Turn and knit 7.

Turn and knit 6.

Turn and knit 5.

Turn and knit 4.

Turn and knit 3.

Turn and knit 2.

Turn and knit 6.

Turn and work until marker that was inserted after the first 10 stitches, (the marker can now be removed and used
at next drop).

LEAF:

NOTE: Work leaf at the end of row seen from right side! Row 1 (= wrong side)

Work 3 stitches.

Turn and work 2 stitches, work 2 stitches in last stitch (i.e. work in front and back loop of stitch).
Turn and work 6 stitches.

Turn and work 5 stitches, work 2 stitches in last stitch.

Turn and work 9 stitches.

Turn and work 8 stitches, work 2 stitches in last stitch.

Turn and work 12 stitches.

Turn and work 11 stitches, work 2 stitches in last stitch.

Turn, cast off first stitch (= 1 stitch on needle), work 9 stitches.

Turn and work 10 stitches.

SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:

Worked back and forth on circular needle from one side along bottom edge and diagonally over to tip in the other
side. Knit all rows.

SHAWL:

1ST SECTION:

Cast on 210 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 mm with silver fox. Knit 2 rows (1st row = right side). Now work as
follows:

ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2 together (somewhat loosely), work until 1 stitch remains on needle, 1 yarn over, knit 1 =
210 stitches.

ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches, knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes.

ROW 3: Knit the first 2 stitches together (somewhat loosely), knit the next 2 stitches together (somewhat loosely),
work the rest of row (= 2 stitches decreased) = 208 stitches.
ROW 4: Knit all stitches.

Repeat 1st-4th row 4 times in total (= 16 rows).

In 1st section 4 stitches have been increased at the end of row and 12 stitches decreased at beginning of row seen
from right side = 202 stitches.

Insert a marker thread before the last 6 stitches on needle seen from right side (= 196 stitches before marker thread
and 6 stitches after marker thread). Marker thread follows upwards in piece and should help to make sure that the
pattern/drops are in the correct place. On the rows where drops are worked there should always be a drop or 15
stitches in garter stitch BEFORE marker thread (seen from right side). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!

Switch to light pearl grey and work a stripe with short rows as follows:

ROW 17 (= right side): Knit all stitches.

ROW 18 (= wrong side): Work LEAF – read explanation above, knit 20 (= 21 stitches on right needle), * work DROP –
read explanation above, knit 20 *, work from *-* 6 times in total, knit 1.

ROW 19: Switch to silver fox and knit all stitches.

ROW 20: Knit all stitches.

2ND SECTION:

ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2 together (somewhat loosely), work until 1 stitch remains on needle, 1 yarn over, knit 1 =
202 stitches.

ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches, knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes.

ROW 3: Knit the first 2 stitches together (somewhat loosely), knit the next 2 stitches together (somewhat loosely),
work the rest of row (= 2 stitches decreased) = 200 stitches.

ROW 4: Knit all stitches.

Repeat 1st-4th row 7 times in total (= 28 rows) = 188 stitches.

Now work as follows:

ROW 29: Knit 2 together (somewhat loosely), work the remaining stitches on needle (= 1 stitch decreased) = 187

ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2 together (somewhat loosely), work until 1 stitch remains on needle, 1 yarn over, knit 1 =
152 stitches.

ROW 2 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches, knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes.

ROW 3: Knit the first 2 stitches together (somewhat loosely), knit the next 2 stitches together (somewhat loosely),
work the rest of row (= 2 stitches decreased) = 150 stitches.

ROW 4: Knit all stitches.

Repeat 1st-4th row 8 times in total (= 32 rows).

In 5th section 8 stitches have been increased at the end of row and 24 stitches decreased at beginning of row seen
from right side = 136 stitches. Move the marker thread before the last 6 stitches on needle seen from right side.

Switch to light pearl grey and work a stripe with short rows as follows:

ROW 33: Knit all stitches.
