E05 Poetry Reflection

Every year, I have the most difficult time in the poetry unit. I am always weary about

poetry since I am not creative enough in poetry to create great pieces. When writing fiction

essays, it is much easier for me to gain ideas but in poetry, I have a difficult time imagining and

getting inspiration for my works. In this unit, I tried my best to recreate the mood in the

examples given by our teachers into my writing. In the end, although my poetry was not

amazing, I was proud of the results. They were relatively well-structured, and they followed all

the rules given by the teacher. I also managed to add iambic pentameter to my poems, making

them even more impressive than my other ones. However, I could have improved in a few

aspects to improve the quality of my poems. In all my poems, there were small errors that I

would not have made with proper revision and editing. Next time, I will make sure that I revise

my work thoroughly for this to not happen again.
