CANDIDATE COMPETENCY BASIS

Please answer this based on your personal work experience.

1. Purposeful - capturing the meaning of our work at our company, following our mission to improve
people’s lives and adhere to ethical behavior. This includes our commitment to internal and external
customers and users with high-quality and high-impact solutions.
A. Please give an example where you had to deal with an exceptionally demanding customer request. How
did you handle that situation and what was the turn-out?

Situation/Task: Since I was an intern, I wasn’t inclined with our customers per se, I was part of the
Marketing Operations and Support Systems which deals with day to day operations tasks e.g liquidation,
reimbursements and other requirements. I have a superior who suddenly needed an extra hand for a
liquidation with a deadline on the next morning. I, on the other hand, have a night class.

Action: I have weighed what would have been the impact if I did not go to the class vs if I did not finish the
task. The team, who was already under the pump at the time would have been called out because of the
delays on data processing. So what I did was contacted my professor and asked for permission for me to
be included in the Saturday class instead to make up for it and he agreed to this given that I provided
stamped hours that I was in my OJT at the time.

Result/s: We were able to finish the liquidation and pass the next morning, I was also able to provide time
stamp to my professor then I was allowed for the Saturday class.

2. Future-oriented – continuously seeking best practice solutions and embracing opportunities of new
technologies to shape the future of our business.
A. Tell me about a time when you had to start a project/initiative from scratch. What was the project about
and how did you handle it? What was the result?

Situation/Task: We had a subject in school (Public Relations) where we were tasked to create a PR plan
for the Boracay Grand Launch which we weren’t familiar with at the time and was also not yet skilled
enough to execute.
Action: I did my research on the topic. I have also read history and current events of the issue to make
sure I cover all my bases, fact wise. From there, I researched on how to make a PR plan and made a
thorough presentation and debate.

Result/s: Since, I was able to research well and thorough, not only about how to create a PR plan but also
about the topic provided by the professor. I was able to execute the project smoothly and was also able to
answer all the questions my professor asked.

3. Innovative – constantly experimenting driving change initiatives. This includes being open to new ideas,
malign quick decisions and taking risks.
A. Can you share a situation where you had to adapt to a change process in the company? What did you do?
What was easy/difficult? What was the result of your action?

Situation/Task: I can only say this when I was doing my OJT, wherein I had to transfer from one
department to another due to lack of manpower.

Action: It was not difficult for me as I see this as a learning opportunity since I am only on the starting. I
felt grateful that I was provided the knowledge and equipped with enough experience.

Result/s: It was really an opportunity for me to grow and learn more about how the company works by
experiencing different department.
