Biodiversity - Biodiversidad
The existence of many different kinds of plants and animals in an
environment.

Biomass - Biomasa
Materials that are biological in origin, including organic material (both living
and dead) from above and below ground, for example, trees, crops, grasses,
tree litter, roots, and animals and animal waste

Carbon dioxide level - Nivel de óxido de carbono


The level of a colorless and odorless gas which is vital to life on Earth.

Climate change – Cambio climático


Climate change refers to any significant change in the measures of climate
lasting for an extended period of time.

Conservation - Conservación
The protection of animals, plants, and natural resources.

Ecosystem - Ecosistema
Any natural Módulo or entity including living and non-living parts that interact
to produce a stable system through cyclic exchange of materials.

Germplasm - Germoplasma
The hereditary material of the germ cells.

Global warming – Calentamiento global


The recent and ongoing global average increase in temperature near the
Earths surface.

Greenhouse - Invernadero
A building or part of a building that has glass walls and a glass roof and that
is used for growing plants.

Greenhouse effect – Efecto invernadero


Trapping and build-up of heat in the atmosphere (troposphere) near the Earths
surface.

Greenhouse emissions-- Emisiones de gases tóxicos,

The emission into the earth's atmosphere of any of various gases, esp carbon
dioxide, that contribute to the greenhouse effect.

Greenhouse gas - Gases de efecto invernadero


Any gas that absorbs infrared radiation in the atmosphere.

Heat waves – Olas de calor


A prolonged period of excessive heat, often combined with excessive
humidity.

Hurricane and monsoon - Huracanes y monzones


A monsoon is a seasonal reversal of wind, while a hurricane is an organized
storm with very low pressure.

Ozone - Ozono
The triatomic form of oxygen (O3) is a gaseous atmospheric constituent.

Ozone layer – Capa de ozono


The layer of ozone that begins approximately 15 km above Earth.

Plant species – Especies vegetales


A set of plants in which the members have similar characteristics to each
other and can breed with each other.

Ice of the polar regions.

Polar ice cap - Casquete polar


It is a high-latitude region of a planet, dwarf planet, or natural satellite that is
covered in ice.

Salinity - Salinidad
It is the relative proportion of salt in a solution.

Sensitivity - Sensibilidad
The degree to which a system is affected, either adversely or beneficially, by
climate variability or change.

Soil moisture - Humedad del suelo


The quantity of water contained in soil.

Solar radiation - Radiación solar


Radiation emitted by the Sun.

Solar system - Sistema solar


Our sun and the planets that move around it.

Weather – Tiempo metereológico


Atmospheric condition at any given time or place.

A statement of what the weather is likely to be for the next day or few days.
