DESCRIBING PEOPLE: PERSONALITY AND APPEARANCE

1. What kind of person are you? How would you describe yourself? How do you think your
best friend would describe you? Wath about your boss?

R/: I am an Extravert person, I like to interact with my environment. I consider myself a person
who faces various personalities, I can be a very strong and very happy, friendly, and simple,
generous character among others.

Few friends know me completely, but they describe to me that I am very happy, friendly, cheerful
most of the time since I seek to make them feel good just like me. As for my relatives, my parents
describe me as someone generous and happy.

2. What are the most important charácter traist for a person to have? Why?

R/: The traits that should stand out the most in a person are perseverance, motivation, love,
sociability, security, because it shows the reliability that that person can generate, knowing that he
is a person motivated by his things and constant in them and that shows security and before others is
what like.

3. Describe a person you admire, Waht things do you admire about him/her?. Describe a
person that you can´t stand. What are his/her worst traits?
R/: In this case I admire two people who mean a lot to me, they are my parents and what I admire
about them is their motivation to live life and what they do, what they transmit in their artistic
works, I admire their perseverance, their simplicity, their responsibility and much more.
On the other hand, I cannot stand people who discriminate everything, it is something very
annoying for many too, they are people who think they are superior, they are aggressive, rude,
arrogant and that is very unpleasant.

4. What´s your zodiac sign? What are people with yoursign like? Do you fit that description?
R/: My zodiac sign is taurus, the people of this signs are those who have will power, permanence,
firmness, perseverance, stability, concretion, resistance, strength, sensuality, good food, form,
music, vocal talent, enduring feelings.
And some of this description fits me.

5. What are some stereotypical characteristics of public employees? What about people who
live in small villages? What about footballers or people who wear glasses?

R/: The employees are identified more with professions that require characteristics of intellectual
but also physical effort, and related to creation and / or infrastructure planning and that are
developed in open spaces where most other men participate.
Living in small towns, as in my case in people, you can see certain characteristics that are good,
making people of other people feel comfortable in the environment, developing certain friendly
behavior, but there are also bad characteristics where they gossip quickly without thinking.
As for soccer players, they are characterized by generating motivation through what they do, since
for some they are people to follow, so these athletes sometimes have to demonstrate what people
seek to find in them.
People who wear glasses are nicknamed nerds almost always for the simple fact that seeing glasses
already represents intelligence according to arguments of so many things that are incorrect.

6. Do you know what these phrases referring to people mean?

 To be pain in the neck ( apin in the ass)

 To be down – to- Earth-
 To be a (wo) man of many hats
 To be a few bricks short of a load
 To be off one´s rocker
 To have a stiff upper lip
 To have one´s head on straight

7. Can you think of a person as an example for each phrase?

 Conflicted person
 But Camilo brings her  down to earth
 Person who is out of control – hysterical
 Person who keeps secrets or not
 Person who has a good head, who reasons in what he does, knows where he is
standing

8. On what aspects of a person´s appeerance do we base our opinios of that person?

(hair,actions,style) How important is a first impresión? Are first impressions lasting?
Have you ever misjudged a person base don their appearance? Tell about it.

R/: Often, we base our opinions in physical traits such as hair color,size or skin. the fiirst
impression gives you an idea of how a person could be in his or her daily life. i have never
misjudged someone because of his or her appearance, i consider that there are more imporant things
that can help us to build a real idea about someone such as personality or bahavior.

9. What do different physical traits tell about a person? do you thong a person´s hair style,
eye color, or foot size can be an indicator of what kind of person she/ he is? Are there any
cultural superstitions regarding different physical traits and personality in your culture?

R/: Maybe physical traits can tell us about the style of someone but not exactly about the kind of
person they are. there are cultural superstitions here because of the indigenous culture, their clothes
and traits could make us think that they are different but at the end we are all equal.
