(Chapter 78, Article XVIII, of the City of West Palm Beach Code ~f Ordinances): The City is .

restaurant businesses to t:e~porarily use on~street parking spaces for outdoor di~ing, subject

The city has designated certain pedestrian zories where the Cjtywill dose selected portions .
· of the right -of way and require deto~rs for vehicles to allow th~ maximum additional space

. Applications for the designati~ri of a pedestrian ~one wiU be evaluated i~ a_ case by case ba;is·.
and may be submitted by_ the. Downtown. bevelopmE!nt Authority (ODA), Community
Redevelopment Agency (CRA) or a neighborhood/business association. In the· interest bf
pub Uc safety, the pedestrian zones can ·only be approved by the City; The City will pr6vide the ·
maintenance of traffic plan to close the street for vehicles and deploy the iiecessa_ry detours ..
and signs to directtraffic away from the closure. Pedestrian zoneswifl be approved as special
events and do not need to apply for a temporary outdoor dining permit.

Once the pedestrian zo.ne is designated by the City, it is the responsjbility of the applicant to
activate these spaces with tempqrary materials such as tables, chairs, umbrellas and other
.furnishings as needed.

Temporary Outdoor Dining contained. in the Temporary Outdoor Dining Program are
applicable to Pedestrian Zones. . . .
