TOPIC: ENERGY AND ITS TRANSFORMATIONS

As a profundization activity, half of the students are asked to watch the movie: "The Boy Who Harnessed
the Wind" and the other half of the group watch the movie "The Martian" and then solve the following
challenges.

1. After watching the movie that corresponded to you, describe how was evidenced the transformation
of energy to improve the conditions of the place in which occur.
2. What type of energy transformation you identified? Describe it:

3. Do you think that the use of organic material for the production of sustainable energy as in the case
of the film is possible in our world? How could something like this be implemented in our country?
4. Fiction is about to become reality. NASA is finishing the preparation to reassume manned missions
to the moon and, eventually, between the next ten years, to mars. Do a research about what they
are preparing, not only for the travel (it is supposed to last at least almost a year), but for settling
down a base and using of renewal energy sources, especially on a completely unknown planetary
surface.
