As medical marijuana and other CBD-based products are becoming legal all throughout the
United States and the world, new research is beginning to shed light on the many possible
health benefits that both medical marijuana and CBD can offer people suffering from a range of
diseases, illnesses, and other health-related issues. For instance, CBD oils are known to reduce
pain, battle symptoms of anxiety, reduce diabetes, and even treat sleep insomnia!
We have only begun to understand the role of cannibinoids in our body. We didn’t even know
the endocannabinoid system existed until the early 1990s! Now we are discovering it may be
the most important regulatory system in the body.
Here are 6 ways that CBD have shown great potential in alleviating and reducing health issues.
This is only a partial list and more therapeutic benefits are discovered every year.
Seizure Disorders
A seizure occurs when there is a fluctuation of electrical activity in the brain. For many years,
many high-profile cases have raised awareness concerning CBD’s anti-seizure properties.
However, it’s only recently that science has been able to confirm this activity. A double-blind,
randomized trial that was published in The New England Journal of Medicine explored the effect
of CBD medication on adults with Dravet syndrome which is a rare type of epilepsy with
seizures that are sometimes induced by fever. The people who received CBD medication saw
their seizure frequency drop by 38.9%.
Pain Relief
For thousands of years, marijuana has been used as one of the most common pain relieving
substances known to man. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, marijuana became
subjected to stigmatization, categorization, and prohibition. But with the recent surge in
popularity among medical marijuana and other CBD-based products, CBD oils have emerged
as one of the most popular products of pain relief.
In fact, several studies have found that CBD has the potential to be an effective form of pain
relief treatment related to multiple sclerosis and arthritis.
