Introduction
Cannabis is a magically powerful plant. It can help with a lot of our health issues, whether
it be physical, mental, and even spiritual. This is the reason why it is so unfortunate for us
that marijuana has been given a bad and somewhat undeserved rap in years past.

In the history of man, it’s only been in the last century that people started looking at
cannabis, and some other plant medicines, in a totally negative light; in large part due to
complex commercial, economic and political reasons.

Fortunately, there is new and very encouraging medical interest, with new research in
the healing power of cannabis, and some other significant and previously banned plant
derived compounds such as DMT and psilocybin.

Healing with Cannabis through the Years

In fact, cannabis was so influential in ancient cultures that the plant actually helped
establish religions such as Hinduism and Zoroastrianism. It’s also considered as one of
the best plant medicines ever discovered and was listed in many different ancient medical
texts. You could consider it as an early antibiotic of the past, if you will.

Even today, in the modern world, cannabis is still being recognized due to its medicinal
capabilities in helping with pain management, neurological ailments, and even cancer!

Now, we could talk about the various political and economic interests to blame for all
the negative propaganda about this amazing plant, which eventually led to its worldwide
prohibition in the later half of the 20th century or; we can focus on its medicinal qualities
instead—the very qualities that started the current revolution towards the road to cannabis
legalization.

In this eBook, we are going to talk about cannabis as a healing agent. Specifically, we will
discuss the various ways to smoke it for healing, the different strains, and their healing
properties, and finally, the holistic healing abilities of cannabis in dealing with the ailments
of the body, mind, and soul.

Chapter 1: How to Smoke
Weed for Health
Cannabis can be consumed in several ways: by turning it into oil, drinking it as tea, or by
mixing it as an ingredient in cooking. However, the most popular way of consuming the
healing properties of cannabis is still through smoking.

Smoking weed is simple, efficient, and convenient. You won’t need any special procedure;
you can just light it up, take a puff, and you’re all set. There are different ways of smoking
weed, though, and that’s what we are going to talk about in this chapter.

To be more specific, we are going to tackle the four most common ways of smoking—
through a joint, a bong, or a vape pen. Then, later on, at the end of this chapter, we are
going to talk about which method works best. Let’s start smoking!

6 • themarijuanavape.com
The Joint

The joint is the most common way of smoking weed. It is done by rolling some dried
weed on a piece of rolling paper, lighting it up, and then, smoking it, which is similar to
how you would roll some tobacco to smoke. This method might be the most convenient,
but learning how to roll a joint properly takes some practice too—not to mention that there
are different ways to roll a joint. There’s the classic joint, a cone joint, a shotgun joint, and
more.

If you still don’t know how to roll a joint, don’t worry; there are a lot of resources online.
Watching a video tutorial is a great help in getting that technique down. Here are the basic
steps to help you get started:

1. Take out a piece of rolling paper. It usually has a fold in the middle.

2. Use a small piece of cardboard, which is small enough to fold and serve as your
joint’s filter.

3. Hold your rolling paper in between your thumb and index finger. Fill it with your favorite
weed in the crease of the paper.

4. Once ready, it’s time to roll your joint. Roll it in a way that the adhesive side is facing
up, ready to be licked.

5. Lick and seal your joint with the adhesive.

6. Twist the end and cut the excess paper with a pair of scissors.

7. Smoke it and have a good time.

7 • themarijuanavape.com
The Bong

It is a common assumption that while marijuana itself may not have any cancerous effect
on the body, smoking it through a joint makes it unhealthy due to the impurities of the
smoke. Where do the impurities come from? Well, these harmful substances might come
from the burning paper, or just the ash and tar present in the smoke.

For this reason, some people prefer to smoke weed through a bong instead. A bong is a
water pipe made out of glass, which allows the smoke to be filtered through water before
you inhale it. Not only will the inhalation, or toke, be free from the impurities of burning
paper, but the water in the bong will also filter 90% of whatever impurities are present in
the smoke, giving you a better quality of smoke.

Similar to rolling a joint, there are also online resources that can teach you how to use a
bong. It might look a bit complicated at first, but don’t get intimidated. It’s actually pretty
fun to smoke a bong. Here are the basics:

1. A bong has three main parts: the tube, the body, and the bowl.

2. Put water in. Some people prefer cold water since it can give a cleaner, smoother hit.

3. Put your weed on the bowl, and your mouth on top of the tube. As you light the bowl,
its raw smoke will be pulled into the water, get “cleansed” and will then go up the tube.

4. If your bong has a “choke” (a small hole that allows clean air to enter your bong),
cover it as you take a hit.

5. Repeat and enjoy.

8 • themarijuanavape.com
So you see? It’s not that difficult to smoke a bong, right? However, some people might
still find this method too complicated. Is there an easier (yet still cleaner) way to smoke
cannabis?

The Pen

The answer is, yes. Yes, there is. And that is through a vape pen. The vape pen used for
marijuana is similar to the standard vape. The only difference is that, instead of juice,
marijuana vape pens use oil. Some brands and models even use the weed itself! These
substances will then be vaporized, which you can then inhale.

Vape pens run on rechargeable batteries. All you have to do is to fill those babies up, put
your substance in, and vape.

Another great advantage of vaping is the ability to control temperature settings on many
vaporizer models which means you can extract the best from your oil or weed.

9 • themarijuanavape.com
Vaping really is a thing of the future. Even if the “purists” out there still prefer a joint, they
cannot ignore the benefits of smoking a vape pen. Some of these are:

1. They are more convenient and easy to use; not a lot of preparation required.

2. They are discreet.

3. Some of them come with oil mixes from other herbs, which will complement and
make the marijuana’s health benefits more effective.

They are healthier because you’re not “smoking”; you’re simply inhaling the vapor.

Which Method is the Best?

Now that we have talked about the different ways of smoking weed, the question is: which
method is the best? Well, that depends on where your priorities lie.

If you value the health benefits the most, the vape pen is probably the best choice for you.
It’s convenient, you can smoke it anytime you need it, and you can easily take it anywhere
with you without attracting too much attention.

If you value the experience—not to mention the bond you’ll forge when passing it around
with friends—then nothing still beats the classic joint

Finally, if you value both the experience and still want the smooth, clean, tar-free hit, then
the bong is absolutely perfect for you.

Chapter 2: The Different
Strains and Their Healing
Properties
Once you have figured out your method of choice, the next thing you’ll need to decide on
would be the strain you want. Just as plants have different types and varieties, cannabis
has different strains too.

Due to their number, it would be impossible for us to list down all the strains ever discovered
and genetically derived. What we can do, however, is list down the main categories in this
chapter. We’ll also discuss each of their health benefits.

11 • themarijuanavape.com
Indica

Indica is a type of cannabis plant with a shorter height and broader leaves. It also has a
shorter flowering cycle compared to other strains, and usually grows in colder regions.
Indica is commonly regarded as the strain to go to for if you want to relax and sleep. It is
said to give you that “stoned” feeling, due to its high CBD content (we’ll talk more about
this later).

Sativa

Sativa strains, on the other hand, are taller and have longer leaves. When you think of the
usual marijuana leaf with long pointed fingers, it’s usually the Sativa plant’s leaves you’re
imagining. It is important to note that Sativa strains have longer flowering cycles as well
and that they thrive in a warmer climate. Sativa is said to contain more THC content, the
component that gives you the signature high—happy and hungry.

Hybrids

Finally, there are the hybrids. Hybrids have been developed and evolved to come up with
even more strains, created to cause specific effects and health benefits. Because of this,
hybrids are said to be the best for beginners to try out, since they give both the stoned and
high experience without being too overwhelming.

Now that we have gotten acquainted with the three main cannabis strain categories, let
us now talk about their health benefits. Honestly, these don’t really rely on the specific
strain of the plant, but rather, its components. Having said that, it is perfectly natural to
experience a trippy high from an Indica, and equally understandable to experience a heavy

12 • themarijuanavape.com
yet relaxed feeling from a Sativa. It’s not the names of the plants that determine the type
of high, after all, but the plant’s cannabinoids.

A cannabinoid is a chemical compound that is present in cannabis responsible for giving

you a high or very relaxed and calm feeling. There are two types of cannabinoids:

• THC or Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol. This is the component responsible for the “high” feeling.
It makes us feel happy, hungry, and it works great in helping with nausea and pain.

• CBD or cannabidiol. This component, on the other hand, is responsible for that “stoned”
relaxed and calm feeling. Aside from that, though, it also works great for anxiety, pain,
and it eases out inflammation.

You now know the two different cannabinoids. Use this information to help you figure out
which strain you need and want. Is it a THC-dominant strain? A CBD-dominant strain? Or
something that gives a balanced level of the two?

Whatever type of cannabis strain you end up enjoying, one thing is for sure: it is packed
with health benefits. If you want to learn more about how cannabis heals our body, then
please read on to the next chapter.

Chapter 3: Holistic Healing
with Cannabis

Here comes the really exciting part. Smoking weed can be fun, but what makes it really
special is the fact that you are healing yourself in the process as well. In this chapter, we
are going to talk about the different ways cannabis can heal us on all the levels of our
being: our body, our mind, and our soul.

The Body

Let’s start with the body, since it’s the first part of us that cannabis touches, right? Below
are the different physical health benefits of smoking marijuana:

1. Say goodbye to pain. From what we have already mentioned above, we learned that
marijuana could greatly help in terms of lessening pain. In fact, this is actually the most
common reason why people reach for medical marijuana—to free themselves from pain
and enjoy an improved quality of life.

14 • themarijuanavape.com
2. Marijuana helps with muscle spasms and inflammation. In relation to the previous
item, another reason why cannabis is so effective in dealing with pain is that it can help
with muscle spasms and inflammation as well. And, yes, that includes helping patients
who suffer from arthritis and even those who have inflammatory bowel diseases!

3. Improved vision. Another common treatment that cannabis is used for is for glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a vision problem that can lead to blindness. Fortunately for us, medical
marijuana can prevent and even help cure glaucoma.

4. Keep seizures at bay. Going through a seizure is one of the scariest things that can
happen to you. You first lose control of your body, then you lose consciousness, and
then you wake up with no memory of what happened—only the feeling that something
happened, or worse, seizure-related injuries.

15 • themarijuanavape.com
It is difficult to imagine that for some people, children included, seizures are part of their
lives. Some people with severe seizure disorders may even experience up to 300 seizures
a week. For those people, cannabis is heaven sent. CBD, after all, can help treat seizures,
even treatment-resistant ones! Social media sites are filled with amazing videos showing
the power of marijuana in dealing with seizures. It’s almost unbelievable how effective
cannabis is.

Is it the cure for the Big C? Several studies have already been made about cannabis and
cancer, and the results are very promising! In one study, it was seen that cannabis actually
helped prevent cancer cells from spreading further. Meanwhile, in another study, cannabis
was even able to shrink existing tumors! Are we finally looking at the cure for cancer?
Only time will tell when we have studied and learned enough about this miracle plant to
create an effective and mainstream accepted treatment program alternative which for
many would be a desperately welcomed alternative to chemotherapy.

Or for Alzheimer’s? Alzheimer’s is a dreaded disease that takes away everything that’s
important to a patient, starting with his memory. However, we might actually be looking
at the cure of Alzheimer’s every time we smoke a joint because marijuana is said to help
ease Alzheimer’s symptoms and even slow down its progression.

And Parkinson’s? Parkinson’s disease is another dreaded ailment that can also drastically
decrease a patient’s quality of life, much like Alzheimer’s. And like Alzheimer’s, marijuana
can help patients who suffer from Parkinson’s disease too.

It can help make treatments more effective. Hepatitis C treatment, for instance, comes with
a lot of negative side effects such as nausea and loss of appetite. The same thing goes
for cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy—as if being sick is not burden enough!

Thus, it really is a good thing that cannabis can actually help ease those side effects
or even eliminate them altogether. It might not be the actual cure for their ailment, but
helping out with these unnecessary burdens that come with “the cure” can definitely go a
long way in helping a patient heal.

The Mind

Aside from the body, cannabis can help heal our minds too. We might have mentioned
how cannabis can help us deal with brain-related ailments, but it can also help us heal the
mind’s ailments from within.

1. Anxiety – Since cannabis is a substance known to help people relax, it is not surprising
to find out that it can help with anxiety as well.

2. PTSD – Having post-traumatic stress disorder is like being trapped in a room with
your worst memories or trauma based nightmares, forever playing on repeat. Hence, it’s
nice to know that cannabis can actually offer a sanctuary—a safe mental space for people
who suffer from PTSD.

At the same time, it can also provide sufferers with relief from the pain that they go
through every single day that is PTSD related. Cannabis doesn’t just heal physical pain,
after all. It also heals other, more complicated types of pain—the deeper ones; those that
not even the toughest painkillers can fade away.

3. Nightmares – It is not just memories that can haunt us, but bad dreams as well. What’s

17 • themarijuanavape.com
worse is that we can’t even imagine it away, especially when it’s easy for nightmares to
turn into realities whenever we’re asleep. Fortunately, cannabis can significantly decrease
nightmare visits due to its effect on the “nightmare” levels of sleep (or the depth of sleep
when nightmares typically occur).

4. Creativity – But, enough about the dark side of the brain. Let’s talk about its brighter
side too, specifically the part that is responsible for creative thinking, which cannabis can
surprisingly stimulate. It’s no wonder why artists, philosophers and inventors have loved
smoking a joint or two daily!

The Soul

Finally, we’re going to talk about how marijuana heals the innermost level of our being:
our soul. Once you have found marijuana easing up your mental stresses, such as anxiety,
fear, and depression, you’ll know that the wondrous effects of the plant are already starting
to create wonders for your soul too. Deeply traumatic experiences have a nasty way of
leaving their imprint on our souls, after all.

18 • themarijuanavape.com
Aside from helping us survive through bad memories, marijuana can also heal at an even
more profound level. It can give us a calm state of mind, help us meditate, and obtain
a deeper understanding of things—of life even, which can ultimately help us heal and
be a better version of ourselves. Can you just imagine how marijuana can help in terms
of therapy and recovery, especially in severely traumatized people such as veterans or
victims who have experienced the worst horrors of war?

Finally, and most importantly, it can teach us to become one with Nature too. It makes us
realize that we are actually one with the Source, as well as with all the other beings in the
world. After all, we all breathe the same air.

This is how cannabis helped the development of belief systems, and why shamans and
sages of the past used cannabis in their sacred rites. It is because cannabis helps to put
us better in touch with our spirituality. Those who have not experienced smoking cannabis
yet may pass this off as a psychoactive effect of the plant, but those who already have
will know how special and profound this experience is. Some would even say that it is
nothing short of life-changing.

Conclusion
So, did you enjoy the depths where cannabis can take you? It truly is such a wonderful
plant, isn’t it? We sincerely hope that through this short eBook, we were able to broaden
your awareness and help you appreciate it even more for the good that it does, and not
for the villain the political world branded it to be in recent times past.

We are also very happy that somehow, little by little, a number of current world leaders are
starting to recognize the goodness and value of cannabis again, in a time of increasing
world anxiety on so many levels, when it is now needed more than ever. We only wish that
someday, our world will be a place of happier people who have the freedom of smoking
cannabis anytime they want and need, without worry and persecution.

What a wonderful world that would be! Speaking of which, if you’d like to learn more
about the wonders of cannabis, then please feel free to visit our website. We always keep
it updated with helpful articles about medical marijuana.

Thank you so much for reading our eBook all the way through. We hope that you have
enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it for you. We also hope that, someday,
we can all share a joint, bong or vape, eat, and be merry.

Stay happy and healthy!
