the Royal National Theatre, London, on 7 April2000. The

Setting
The action takes place over twenty-four hours in a modern
NHS psychiatric hospital in London.
Act One

A consultation room. A transparent water cooler. A round table with a


large glass bowl containing three oranges.
Bruce and Christopher standfacing each other.
