Stage five: Social contract and individual right.

Amidst the food shortage situation during Covid-19 epidemic in Bangladesh, A relief truck carrying rice
and potatoes to a was looted by villagers in Jalamlpur on its way to another ward 1. The loot was done by
unemployed and hungry individuals alleged that no relief was given to poverty-stricken area even
though they went to various location for food aids. We need to look at the social perspective and
reasoning mode. They might have believed that if the truck was not looted, their health food suffers due
to lack of food, so they collectively decided to go with the operation.

In this scenario, the truck loot was unlawful and agencies were expected to deliver reliefs to all poverty-
stricken areas by the government order in gradual bureaucratic process. They believed that process of
food distribution was unjust and it needed a change. They realized that their needs were greater than
the societies as they believed others were receiving goods but they weren’t. The possession of food for
survival was more important than breaking the law of robbery.

Assuming that the people from the designated relief ward didn’t counter revolt from the incident upon
not receiving their eligible goods. They might have been slightly better off compared to the looters. Now
this incident can bring an optimized change to their future relief distribution, where goods can be
distributed based on the urgency.

used principles of non-violence and racial justice for his civil movements. 3

He tried to achieve justice and freedom with his perspective of morals and values. He had a self esteem
of bringing justice to the communities of color even if was against the established societies norm. He
wanted to eradicate the difference in privileges that was created based on color of skin. He created a
support network from the racial discriminated communities to protest peacefully against the
governance system where basic human rights were not given to the discriminated communities thought
the world. He believed that in order to create a good society, races from background should be treated
equally, as various forms of slavery still existed during his period as well. He had self-chosen values and
moral principles which were consistent with all human beings. He went through many adversities to
influence others. King “felt it morally and spiritually necessary to devote his full energy and complete
being to the movement’s cause” (Garrow, 1987, p. 6). This was a turning point in his life and his
influence as a moral leader really grew from this point. Later on, He was assassinated due to his strong
