“God/Devil is in the details”

Key concepts observed and interpreted as Minor Architecture
• ELECTISM IN ARCHITECTURE
“ Space is practiced place” – Michel de Certeau
• SETTLEMENTS OF MINORITIES
“Spaces are always under construction….The true subject
of minor architectures are the definers and distributors:
relations of production, of space and politics…..they are
the acts of revolutionaries.”(75)
• SPATIAL INJUSTICE
“The falcon – Their responsiveness to what all assumed
to would be an alien landscape has much to teach us
about how to redefine “nature” in the context of
contemporary metropolis.”(97,98)
• URBAN VOIDS AND OBSELETE
“Minor architectures perpetuate conditions of lack ” (4)
“Ironically, the demise of the old theatre is sometimes
attributed to a lack of parking”(101)
• POLITICS OF DEVELOPMENT
“….corporate hierarchies have also reproduced
themselves as architectural expression of power.”(12)
SETTLEMENTS OF
MINORITIES
• The divisions of spaces based on hierarchy of
economics, politics or of class and creed, which
develops complex spatial movements.
• The unknown or hidden fragments of a bigger space
that could only be experienced through imagination.
• Alternating or establishing of spaces, through a
collaborative thought of a community or their beliefs,
creating contrasts and dynamics in any landscape.
PLAUSIBLE STRUCTURES
• The permutations and combinations, of various
definers using the same space, inducing dynamic
movements, that guides to multiple perspectives
of the same space.
• The lack of peripheral vision, that does not
provide a route to the highest social order. Thus
steming, out into dichotomous distinctions and
creates void between spaces.

OBSELETE
SPATIAL INJUSTICE
ELECTISM IN ARCHITECTURE
• Considering Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of terming
major literature as minor literature, ECLECTISM in
architecture that is considered to redefined architecture
through amalgamation of history and including their
own style, which itself became a renaissance and led to
synthesis of modernism.
