 Hi, my name´s Sandy Lorena García Pallares.

 I´m from Colombia.
 I live in the city of Valledupar, department of Cesar.
 I´m 28 years old.
 My birthday is on March.
 I´m student at psychology.
 My favourite subject is music.
 My favourite sport is football.
 There are six people in my familiy.
 They are my father, three sisters, one brother, and one brother in law.
 My father is a machine engineer and my mother a seamstress.
 I would like to be a nurse because i thinks it´s important.
 My hobby is reading, painting, drawing.
 In my free time, i also like going to the park.
 I don´t like do market.
 My favourite food is the fish.
 My favourite drink is panela water.
 My favourite day of the week is the Friday, because it´s the last day of the week.
 My favourite month is December, because I like it a lot.
 My favourite singer (or band) is Ana Gabriel / Mercedes Sosa.
 I like horror movies.
 My favourite place is the beach, because I can relax there.
 I don´t like travelling. I have been to Santa Marta, Cartagena, Bogotá, Bucaramanga,
Barranquilla.
 The most beautiful place in my country is Cartagena de Indias.
 I study englis because i thinks it´s important.

We use there is and there are when we want to express that something
exists or doesn’t exist.

GRAMMAR STRUCTURE
1. We use there is when the noun is singular.
There is + singular noun.

Examples:
•There is a comb in my bag.
•There is a meeting at my daughter´s school.
•There is a small calf outside the barn.
•There is a beach near the town.

We can also use the contracted form there’s.

There’s an apple under the table.
There’s an excellent horror movie on television on Sunday.

2. We use there are when the noun is plural.

There are + plural noun.
Examples:
There are twenty-five chickens in the barn..
There are some towels on the chair.
There are fifteen outstanding students.
There are many people at the concert.

We never use There are in a contracted form.

NEGATIVE FORM.
We form the negative by writing not after is or are, but most of the time we
use the contractions isn’t or aren’t.
Singular
There isn´t + singular noun.
Examples:
• There isn’t eggs in the henhouse.
• There isn´t money in the portfolio.
• There aren’t books in the library.

Plural
There aren’t+ plural noun.
There aren’t twenty children in the pool.
There aren’t cookies in the dispensation.
There aren’t dogs at the veterinary.

INTERROGATIVE FORM.
We make questions by placing is or are before there.

Is there a comb in my bag?

No, there isn't. (Short answer)

Are there some towels on the chair?

Yes, there are. (Short answer)

Is there bread in the store?

Yes, there is.

¿Are there Fish in the supermarket? No, there aren't.

¿Is there grapes on the table? Yes, there is.
¿ How many hours does the year have?

El clima en la ciudad de Vancouver-Canadá, es muy variado, las lluvias son muy frecuentes todo
el año, sobre todo para las fechas de Octubre hasta el mes de Marzo, podemos decir que la época
más soleada en Vancouver es para el mes de Julio a Agosto, la temperatura promedio es de 20°
C.
