Activities #1-4 Inclusive Community: Video Analysis #4

5. Is there any essence of inclusion from the video, explain.

As what I have observed, the documentary shows the essence of inclusion through
the “bayanihan” of the people who have seen the videos and stories of the children on the
internet. The people surrounding those children were moved by their stories and shared
their stories on social media sites in hopes that people will be moved and would help them
with their situation and thankfully, they were heard. It is evident in our lives, as history
tells, that “bayanihan” is always there and that we are keen to helping people who we
know nothing about. People involved in the life of those children tried their best to
contribute and alleviate their suffering by giving such considerations. In the world full of
strangers, a little sense of humanity can move the lives of some people we know nothing
about.

6. Are the kids being included/excluded from the larger structure of the society, why or
why not?

The kids in the documentary was included by the larger structure of society through
acknowledging their situations and aiding them with the best they can. Those compassion
that they have shown towards the life of those children were enough to prove this
inclusion. Maximizing the use of internet and its vast and rapid connectivity to everyone in
the world, its ability to reach even some remote areas of a country, the people were able
to influence others to help the children. These children were eager to go to school despite
their circumstances, always motivated by their dreams and ambitions. In this kind of acts,
we might just have given hope to a future doctor, president, astronaut, engineer or a
teacher, influenced to help the deprived, the marginalized, the less fortunate ones.
