Business Ethics

1. As being part of the business industry, I should come to terms with understanding that

I will always have competition whether I like it or not. Circumstances like these are

not under my control. However, I shouldn’t become passive over situations like this.

When a competitor’s business is swelling, I should take it up to myself to set

standards for my own business and its betterment. I should focus on the business I

run, instead of getting too caught up on how well other businesses are doing. Working

to improve my own line of work will most likely lead to better productivity and an

increase in customers.

Although considering that the new laundry shop isn’t registered under the Department

of Trade and Industry, I think it would be appreciated to have the business reported

since they are running without a license. Authorization for a business to continue is

considered mandatory since taxes are being paid to the Bureau of Internal Revenue,

and it would be unfair for tax-paying businesses to have competitors which do not

shell out a portion of their income for the required tax.

2. To have stability and an increase in consumers’ patronage to my business, I will

release membership cards for loyal customers. Consumers who avail of my business’

service will be offered these cards, and it may also be available to any customer who

wishes to avail. Being a loyal member will provide perks, such as discounts and

promos. There will also be an incorporation of more facilities to avoid a dull

environment within the premises of the business. Television and music could be heard
all throughout working hours, and the business will take into consideration any and all

constructive criticism their customers have in order to improve their experience with

the laundry shop.
