Dear Sir/Madam:

This respectfully refers to the incident that happened on the night of 25 October 2018
along the hallway of this nursing home.

On said date, we were about to go home from the kitchen but while approaching the
hallway we noticed that a certain Manny Berdonado, supervisor of the Maintenance,
Housekeeping and Laundry was taking video of us walking. I (Mary Jane) called
Berdonado’s attention by asking why is he taking video with us as his subject. His
answer was, it was upon the instruction of the Administrator. Sensing that his very
objective was to put us on the spot maybe because of the two (2) transparent plastic
bags containing vegetables and slices of pizza, respectively, being held by me
(Judena). I (Mary Jane), reacted by saying that what he is doing is wrong because it
creates the impression that the goodies inside the plastic bags were supplies taken
or stolen from the kitchen. The attached photos will show that one plastic bag
contains some vegetables given by Ofelia Ventura, a Filipina co-worker as a present
and the other contains some left over pizza from our in service, which we were not
able to consume since it was already time for us to go home.

The following day we received a letter from Manny Berdonado, apologizing for his
uncalled behavior the other night and admitting such act as rude and inappropriate.
Apparently Administrator, JOSEFINA GERVACIO, assigned him to look into how
kitchen budget can be reduced, and one way is to monitor and validate reports that
some personnel are bringing out some food supplies from the kitchen at night and
that he has a list of these personnel. We note that he clearly stated in his letter, that
our names are not included in the list. Photocopy of his letter is likewise hereto
attached for reference purposes.

For us, Berdonado’s action was not only rude and inappropriate but is damaging and
a form of harassment, as it gave the impression that we were the subject of an
investigation. Moreover, he did the recording of video on the hallway in the presence
of people. Modesty aside, we belong to a family of dignified professionals of
unquestionable integrity. Thus, we will not take this matter sitting down, as we do not
want our reputation to be besmirched by anybody.

We, therefore, hereby request your assistance in fighting for our rights and in
protecting our reputation. Accordingly, the management should take the necessary
disciplinary action against Mr. Berdonado and whoever gave the instruction to take
the subject video.

Your prompt action on this request will be highly appreciated.
