Pillar trim
Upper A-pillar trim, removing and installing

Note:

„ Removal and installation is described for right-hand

side of vehicle. Removal and installation for left-hand
side is similar.

Removing

- Open the covers, remove the two bolts

- 1 - (1.5 Nm) and remove the grab
handle - 2 - .

- Remove airbag emblem in the area of

the A-pillar and remove bolt - 3 - (3.5
Nm).

- Remove airbag emblem from upper C-

pillar and remove bolt - 4 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove upper C-pillar trim in the

transition area to upper A-pillar trim.

- Now pull out the trim from the

mountings, beginning at the rear end, in
the area of the B-pillar.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Note:

„ Before installing, inspect the securing clips for

damage and replace if necessary.

Passenger side lower A-pillar trim, removing and

installing

Removing

- Pull back the floor covering and remove

the plastic nut - 1 - (1.5 Nm).

- Pull the trim - 2 - up and off of the sill.

Start in the area of the B-pillar.

- Pull center A-pillar trim - 3 - out of the

locking tab.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Note:

„ Before installing, inspect the securing clips for

damage and replace if necessary.

Driver side lower A-pillar trim, removing and installing

Removing

- Remove hood release lever

Repair Manual, Body Exterior, Repair Group 55, Hood,

Lids

- Remove bolt - 1 - (1.5 Nm).

- Pull the trim - 2 - up and off of the sill.

Start in the area of the B-pillar.

- Pull center A-pillar trim - 3 - out of the

locking tab.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Note:

„ Before installing, inspect the securing clips for

damage and replace if necessary.

Upper B-pillar trim, removing and installing

Note:

„ Removal and installation is described for right-hand

side of vehicle. Removal and installation for left-hand
side is similar. .

Removing

- Remove upper A-pillar trim 70-3, Upper A-pillar trim,

removing and installing .

- Remove lower A-pillar trim.

„ Passenger side 70-3, Passenger side lower A-

pillar trim, removing and installing .

„ Driver side 70-3, Driver side lower A-pillar trim,

removing and installing .

- Remove lower B-pillar trim 70-3, Lower B-pillar trim,

removing and installing .

- Remove upper C-pillar trim 70-3, Upper C-pillar trim,

removing and installing .

- In vehicles with two belt retractors, disconnect the multi-

part locking tongue from the seat belt 69-1, Multi-part
locking tongue, detaching .

- Remove bolts - 1 - , - 2 - and - 3 -

(1.5 Nm).

- Remove the trim - 4 - from the B-

pillar.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

- Connect the shoulder and lap belt (only in vehicles with

two belt retractors) 69-1, Shoulder and lap belt,
connecting .

Lower B-pillar trim, removing and installing

Note:

„ Removal and installation is described for right-hand

side of vehicle. Removal and installation for left-hand
side is similar.

Removing

- Switch ignition off.

- Remove lower A-pillar trim:

„ Passenger side 70-3, Passenger side lower A-

pillar trim, removing and installing .

„ Driver side 70-3, Driver side lower A-pillar trim,

removing and installing .

- Remove bolt - 1 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove the wheel house trim - 2 - and

remove the bolt - 3 - (1.5 Nm).

- Pull out the trim - 4 - from the

mountings.

- Disconnect the wiring harness from the

vent - 5 - .

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Upper C-pillar trim, removing and installing

Note:

„ Removal and installation is described for right-hand

side of vehicle. Removal and installation for left-hand
side is similar.

Removing

- Open the covers, remove the two bolts

- 1 - (1.5 Nm) and remove the grab
handle - 2 - .

- Remove airbag emblem in the area of

the B-pillar and remove bolt - 3 - (1.5
Nm).

- Remove the airbag emblem in the area

of the rear window and remove the bolt -
4 - (3.5 Nm).

- Now pull out the trim from the

mountings. Start in the area of the B-
pillar.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Note:

„ Before installing, inspect the securing clips for

damage and replace if necessary.

Lower C-pillar trim, removing and installing

Note:

„ Removal and installation is described for right-hand

side of vehicle. Removal and installation for left-hand
side is similar.

Removing

- Remove upper C-pillar trim 70-3, Upper C-pillar trim,

removing and installing .

4-seater

- Remove rear seat cushion, 10-way seat Page 72-2,

Rear seat cushions, 10-position seat, removing and
installing .

- Remove rear seat backrest, 10-way seat Page 72-2,

Rear seat backrest, 10-position seat, removing and
installing .

5-seater

- Remove rear seat cushion, 5-seater 72-2, Rear seat

cushion, 5-seater, removing and installing

- Remove rear seat backrest, 5-seater 72-2, Rear seat

backrest, 5-seater, removing and installing

All vehicles

- Remove bolt - 1 - (40 Nm) and pull out

the belt anchor - 2 - from under the seat
frame.

- Remove bolts - 3 - and - 4 - (1.5

Nm).

- Remove trim - 5 - and pull seat belt

through opening in trim.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Wheel house trim, removing and installing

Note:

„ Removal and installation is described for the right-

hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for
the left-hand side is performed in the same manner.

4-seater

- Remove rear seat cushion, 10-way seat Page 72-2,

Rear seat cushions, 10-position seat, removing and
installing .

- Remove rear seat backrest, 10-way seat Page 72-2,

Rear seat backrest, 10-position seat, removing and
installing .

5-seater

- Remove rear seat cushion, 5-seater 72-2, Rear seat

cushion, 5-seater, removing and installing

- Remove rear seat backrest, 5-seater 72-2, Rear seat

backrest, 5-seater, removing and installing

All vehicles

- Remove the four bolts - 1 - (1.5 Nm).

- Pull out wheel house trim - 2 - from the

mountings in sill.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
